Ejidike did not name the senators or the other federal and state legislators he said were planning to switch camps but said that the defection would hit the PDP in the state  like  a tsunami within the next one month.

The PDP has two of the three senators currently representing the state: Stella Oduah (Anambra North) and Uche Lilian Ekwunife (Anambra Central).

Ejidike said the APC  is waxing stronger  as the election approaches.

His words: “APC  today in Anambra State is more united and it has brought the influx of others to the party. What will happen before November 6 will be a tsunami.

“In the next two weeks, APC will be having two senators and House of Reps members, including members of the State House Assembly before the election.

“We’re tired of playing the opposition and our people want to be at the center. We’re determined and come November 6 election, everyone will see the difference.

The party had earlier in the  week  received a member of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT),Senator Joy Emodi and former Secretary of the party in the Southeast, Chief Okey Ezenwa, into its fold.

Ejidike who was  surrounded at yesterday’s press conference by other executive members of the APC said: “What it means is that APC  is moving and the exercise is still ongoing. We had a break before the primary.”

He said party members are solidly behind the APC governorship candidate, Senator Andy Uba and his running mate,  Emeka Okafor.

Twenty one coordinators of Senator Andy Uba governorship election, have however hailed the decision of Senator Joy Emodi and Chief Okey Ezenwa to join the APC.

They asked aggrieved aspirants who went to court to withdraw their cases in the best interest of the party.

Meanwhile, a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party in Bayelsa State and a member of the PDP Presidential Campaign in 2019, Mr. Sele-Epri Mathew, has said that the rumour making the round that he planned to dump the party is untrue, unfounded and baseless.

Matthew, who is also the PDP Ward Leader in Koluama 1 Community, Southern Ijaw Ward 17 in the state said in an exclusive interview that he had no reasons to dump the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC) or any other party.

Though he admitted there were some personal issues with some political leaders in his constituency, he said the issues were not connected to the party.

Matthew stated: “It is not true that I am defecting from the PDP to APC or any other party. I still remain a staunch and loyal member of the party.

“Though there are personal issues, they are not connected to the party. I have been a loyal member of the PDP, so no issues at the moment can warrant my dumping the party. I will continue to work for the progress and aspirations of the party.

“I want to say it here and now that the report that I was defecting to another party is not correct. It is unfounded and untrue.”
