Ganduje Plans Big For Primary Healthcare Delivery

Kano state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa has reiterated the state government’s resolve to ensure effective primary health care delivery in the state.

Dr. Tsanyawa stated that the state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has directed that all primary health care facilities in the state to be given a facelift to Carter for the health problems of the populace, particularly the common masses in the hinterland.

The Commissioner who spoke through the Ag.Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Isa Ado Dalhatu,  during  the opening ceremony of  a three-day Investment Plan Development Workshop of Kano Minimum Service Package [MSP] for Primary health care held in Kaduna state, said Ganduje is deeply concerned over the health condition of the people of the state.

According to him, “the state government is committed to the improvement of health status of its teeming populace especially at the grassroots where vast majority resides.”

He charged the participants  to be proactive to ensure a reliable and clean document for minimum standard of primary health care.

Earlier, in his welcome remarks and objectives of the meeting, the executive secretary primary health care management board Dr. Tijjani Hussain said the essence of the workshop was to make the participants understand the national recommendation for PHC [Minimum standards and ward minimum health care package], Review and update the adapted MSP for Kano state. Other objectives are understand the approach for costing the MSP and also cost the MSP components in line with the national recommendations.

Dr. Tijjani also commended the support of all and sundry in joint hand together toward the actualization of this process, and expressed hope that in the next couple of years people would be coming to the state to tap from our experience of  PHCs in the state.

The Director General of the state for the control of AIDs Dr. sabitu y. shuaibu shanono commended the state government and all other stakeholders as well as representatives from the National Primary Health Care  Management Board the  Technical support unit for their unwavering support and determinations to this process.
