ABUJA — President Bola Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to former Kaduna State Governor and prominent politician, Senator Ahmed Muhammed Makarfi, as he celebrates his 70th birthday on August 8, 2026.
In a congratulatory message issued on August 7 by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described Makarfi as a quintessential public servant, statesman, and perfect gentleman whose career has been defined by integrity, exemplary leadership, and high repute as an accountant.
Reflecting on Makarfi’s service as Kaduna State Commissioner for Finance, two-term Governor, Senator of the Federal Republic, and former Caretaker National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the President noted that his contributions to governance and national development have earned him cross-party admiration. He commended Makarfi for his prudent management of public resources, commitment to democratic ideals, and policies aimed at uplifting citizens.
President Tinubu praised the elder statesman for his political civility, calm disposition, and steadfast belief in dialogue and national cohesion, describing these traits as vital virtues for emerging political leaders.
Expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah for Makarfi’s life of service, the President prayed for many more years of good health, strength, wisdom, and peace as the former governor continues to offer his wealth of experience to the nation.
