RE – Samuel Anyanwu Treacherous, Playing the Ostrich, Petty, Lacks Capacity for his Office – By Barr Gerry Egbuhuzor

– Ihedioha’s Greed, Selfishness , Vindictive Politics, Corruption Have Crippled PDP In Imo

– Chinemerem Madu: Only The Guilty Conscience Is Afraid of Accountability

– Ihedioha Should Tell Imo PDP Candidates, Members What Happened to the N1.4b Election Intervention Funds

Few hours after the National Secretary of PDP raised an alarm over the role of some saboteurs during the Presidential and National Assembly elections, an alleged serial rapist who allegedly molested an underaged Nanny living in his house, one Chinemerem Madu who has been in police custody for that offence had accused Senator Anyanwu of treachery.

In a sane society, people like Chinemerem Madu has no moral right to explain issues relating to corruption and social sanity. If he is morally sound, I don’t think, he would have ever contemplated raping or impregnating his house maid?

On the other hand, Senator Anyanwu’s statement did not mention any name of the saboteurs yet, but how Chinemerem Madu, a Chief Protocol Officer to Ihedioha dabbled into the matter and started explaining the periphery of the massive sabotage and betrayals is an indication that they are guilty of the allegations.

Good enough, Mr Madu Chinemerem did not deny the fact raised by Senator Anyanwu that some notable party leaders worked against PDP in Imo state after collecting and diverting to personal use the election intervention funds during the February 25th elections.

One had expected Ihedioha, Chinemerem and their allies to explain vividly how much was allocated to each LGA Chairman, the name of the LGA Chairmen they gave any dime, how the funds released to party candidates was shared and who and who received instead of dragging the reading public to a long voyage of irrelevance.

Ihedioha and Chinemerem did not tell the public how the N5, 000 approved for each Booth canvassers in the over 2, 000 polling booths was shared, whether each of them got the approved N5, 000 contained in the template as against N2, 000?.

Ihedioha and Chinemerem also forgot to tell PDP booth agents if what was approved and released to them got to them either before, during or after the February 25th election.

Ihedioha and Chinemerem refused also to tell the people why they removed N135 million, N400 million, and another N267 million respectively from the money released, what was the diverted funds meant for? Why did they claim that they were saving the huge sum for the House of Assembly candidates of the party who were not captured in the template. They should explain who is in custody of the money.

If the election intervention funds were properly and evenly disbursed as they claimed, why then would the PDP LGA Chairmen write petition against the outcome of the sharing of the funds?

If the election intervention funds approved and released to booth canvassers as captured in the template, why then did they abandon their various polling booths in anger over the treatment meted at them?

If Ihedioha and his Aide, Chinemerem Madu are claiming to have disbursed the funds accordingly, why did some House of Representatives and Senatorial candidates of PDP leave his private house at Civic Center, Owerri in anger, at the eve of the election while calling him a fraudster?

It will be wrong to continue to expose the wrong doings of Ihedioha and how he compromised with enemies of PDP to rig the party out in the last election. Evidence of this is the abysmal record of 104 votes for PDP in the entire Aboh Mbaise LGA, where Ihedioha hails from.

It is laughable and smacks of sheer ignorance for Ihedioha and Chinemerem to claim to have secured the following votes in Mbutu Pooling booth:

BOOTH 010

Town School, Mbutu

PRESIDENTIAL:

PDP: 191

LP: 1

APC: 1

SENATE:

PDP: 189

LP: 2

APC: 1

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES:

PDP: 190

LP: 1

APC: 0

MBUTU WARD:

PRESIDENTIAL

PDP: 1,489

APC: 156

LP: 464

SENATORIAL

PDP: 1,799

APC: 329

LP: 469

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES:

PDP: 1,311

APC: 431

LP: 635

The above shows Ihedioha’s obvious trickery and diversionary tendencies. If Ihedioha had gathered the above cosmetic votes in his Mbutu Polling booth, why then did Ithe Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on national televisions (Channels, Arise, AIT, NTA, TVC, Silverbird) etc conspicuously show that the entire Aboh Mbaise LGA recorded only 104 votes for PDP as regards the Presidential election result?

If Ihedioha had recorded 104 votes in the the entire Aboh Mbaise LGA with the huge sum of election intervention funds he diverted, what then happened to the party’s candidates and members who faced severe and keenly contested elections in their respective areas without much funds?

The reason why Ihedioha caused the abysmal loss of PDP in Imo state during the Presidential and National Assembly Polls is because the election intervention funds he collected was policed in his private house to scare authorized party leaders captured in the template from accessing the funds as if, it was his Governorship election funds.

Ihedioha never assisted party candidates financially during, before and after the election. He only demanded 15 million and 25 million respectively from House of Representatives and Senatorial candidates of PDP for no just cause in addition to the funds he diverted.

If Chinemerem is reasonably sound in his jaundiced argument, he would have asked Ihedioha how much fund he supported PDP candidates with during the election. Perhaps, he is not aware how much Senator Anyanwu assisted the party’s National Assembly candidates with to enable them confront the contest. It becomes worrisome why a NEC member of PDP who should be bothered about how the election intervention fund for Imo PDP was misappropriated which led to the poor results recorded by the party in the last election suddenly became Ihedioha’s spokesperson in his bid to justify the gross Misappropriation of election intervention fund for Imo, or is Chinemerem Madu an accomplice to the crime?

Is Ihedioha and Chinemerem aware that Senator Anyanwu recently donated over 50 million to PDP and its candidates to enable them win the last election even when he was never a candidate in the poll? If Ihedioha had contributed half of what Senator Anyanwu did for PDP in Imo State, the Party would not have lost woefully in Aboh Mbaise LGA as well as other strong holds in the state.

These are the questions Ihedioha and Chinemerem would have answered to clear the doubt instead of covering their fraudulent looting mechanisms!

“Help Obidient Movement Dislodge Ebeano Cult Completely”, Church Ministers Appeal to Enugu Voters

The biggest gift voters can give Enugu people this weekend is to join hands with the Obidient Movement, which drives the Labour Party, to vote out the controversial Ebeano political confraternity, the state branch of the National Network of Evangelical Ministers (NNEM) has declared.

“The Ebeano cult is like cancer which has been metastasizing in Enugu since 1999”, the ministers stated in an unprecedented political statement this morning signed by the state chairman, The Reverend Peter Anikwe, the secretary, Pastor Ephraim Ugwu, and the public relations officer, Pastor Ifeanyi Nnaji.

Accusing the Ebeano group of tremendous violence and greed on an industrial scale, the ministers noted that the only time Enugu has witnessed substantial progress since the return of democracy in 1999 was from 2007 to 2015 because “Governor Sullivan Chime heroically threw the desperadoes and bandits out of political relevance”.

The religious leaders expressed shock that outgoing Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuany brought the controversial confraternity back into the political process, despite the stiff opposition of Enugu leaders including Father Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry.

Ebeano, a member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was founded during the Chimaraoke Nnamani administration and has been fingered as responsible for the assassination on February 22 of Chief Oyibo Chukwu, the Labour Party (LP) candidate for the Enugu East senatorial district, with his body and vehicle burnt beyond recognition. Chief Chukwu’s personal assistant, Sunday Igwesi, was equally incinerated.

The religious ministers claimed that it was in revenge against the rehabilitation of the “Ebeano cult that the electorate in the Enugu North senatorial district gave only 46,948 votes to Governor Ugwuanyi but a whopping 104,492 votes to Okey Ezea of the Labour Party in the February 25 National Assembly election, thus becoming the only governor contesting for the Senate who lost his polling booth, polling unit and ward in the whole country”.The Labour Party clinched seven out of the eight federal constituencies in the state.

The NNEM expressed the hope that the “remnants of the Ebeano Cult will be flushed out in this week’s gubernatorial and state assembly elections”, recalling how the people in the Coal Camp layout of Enugu city last month chased away Senator Nnamani with sustained and energetic derogatory songs when he came to campaign for reelection.

The ex-governor could not come out of his vehicle, with all the police contingent with him, they said. He sped away after some 20 minutes in his vehicle.
“When another Ebeano member, Peter Mbah, went on Sunday, March 5, to campaign at the Ugwu Di Nso Pilgrimage Centre in Eke Udi Local Government where some 3,000 youth were having their annual Catholic Youth of Nigeria (CYON) Lenten Week”, recalled the ministers, “he was chased away in broad daylight, and the water and soft drinks he brought not only rejected but also destroyed in full public glare by the youth who described the Ebeano Cult as dangerous”.

The evangelical ministers praised Catholic worshippers for thwarting the efforts of a handful of their leaders like Father Christopher Okechukwu of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in New Haven, Enugu, and Father Celestine Nwogbu of the Assumption Parish at Nkwo Nike in Enugu to campaign for the PDP candidate on Sunday, March 5, forcing Father Okechukwu to apologise profusely and explain that he was merely carrying out an order from above.

They asserted: “Enugu Catholics are toeing the heroic path of Catholics in Latin America famous for their liberation theology, Catholics in the Philippines led by Cardinal Sin who in 1986 drove away the corrupt and evil Marcos regime from power, and Catholics in Haiti who in 1986 also drove away the evil Duvalier regime out of power, as well as Catholics in Poland who helped to not only end the General Jarulziski communist regime in the 1980s but also made Poland the first country in Europe to overthrow communism, leading a few years later to the collapse of communism in central and eastern Europe but also everywhere else in the world, except Cuba, Laos, North Korea, China and Vietnam”.

The ministers advised the PDP candidate to ensure that he utilises the N13 billion he borrowed from Fidelity Bank and the N3bn from Polaris Bank to finance Pinnacle Oil and Gas Company for which the loans were granted, rather than politics.

“All Enugu people”, they continued, “are appalled at the desperation he has been exhibiting for grabbing power, as though his life depended on it.

“We believe there is life after March 18”.

Continue To Vote For LP Because My Brother Was Not Assassinated In Vain”, Professor Chukwu Urges Enugu Voters

0

PROFESSOR Arthur Chukwu of the Nigerian Law School has appealed to voters in Enugu State to continue to vote overwhelmingly for the Labour Party (LP) in memory of his elder brother, Chief Oyibo Chukwu, who was assassinated in Amechi, Enugu South Local Government Area of state, three days to the February 25 National Assembly election while returning from a family meeting in his hometown of Amurri in Nkanu West Local Government Area.

The older Chukwu, a former Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) chairman in Enugu State, was the LP candidate in the Enugu East senatorial election and was killed alongside his personal assistant, Sunday Igwesi.

“A vote for the Labour Party is a vote for change in Enugu State in particular and Nigeria in general”, Professor Chukwu, who is the head of the Department of Professional Ethics and Skills at the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus in Adamawa State, told journalists on the phone today.

“Even though I am not a politician, it is important to make this call on the Enugu people because some politicians without moral scruples in Enugu who have been diametrically opposed to everything Peter Obi of the Labour Party stands for are telling people to vote for them in this week’s election because they falsely claim to have supported the party during the presidential vote.

“They include members of the Ebeano cult of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), whom my brother told a number of people were planning to assassinate him even up to the morning he was murdered on Wednesday, February 22, alongside his faithful PA, and their bodies and vehicle burnt beyond recognition”.

The law professor said a vote for any other party would mean that Chief Oyibo died in vain, “even though every person knows that he was killed for fighting for social justice, as the immediate past Ohaneze Ndigbo president general, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, a former Minister of Information, said last Wednesday at the memorial service”.

Assassins and those notorious for violent politics in the state, he continued, should not be rewarded with high public office.

He expressed optimism that his younger brother, Sir Kelvin Chukwu, an entrepreneur who studied both mass communication and law and will fly the LP flag in the Enugu East senatorial race on March 18, would win an overwhelming majority of the votes.

“A knight of St John International, Kelvin is humble, simple, accessible, focused and committed to the public good”, he said, adding, “he will make a very good senator”.

Professor Chukwu wondered why former Governor Chimaraoke Nnamani “is claiming to still be in the race for the Enugu East senatorial district when the PDP has not reversed his expulsion for anti-party activities by campaigning unabashedly for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“The Constitution provides that only candidates sponsored by political parties can contest in any election, and the PDP national leadership has written two letters to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) stating in black and white that it has no candidate in the senatorial election.

“Therefore, any vote for the PDP in the Enugu East senatorial race is a wasted vote”.

2023 Guber Election: One Person; One Tyre — Ohanaeze Youth

0

…Advocates Jungle Justice Against Any INEC Electoral Fraudster And Criminals

…Ndigbo adopts Tonye Cole, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour as their Guber Candidates

The apex socio-cultural youth organization of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), has read a Riot Act to “Election Riggers” against the forthcoming 18th March gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections across Nigeria.

National President of OYC, Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka; a social crusader and advocate of justice fairness and equity on Wednesday 15th March 2023 in Aba, called on Igbo youths in various communities in Igbo land and Nigeria at large to make available at their various polling units one condemned tyre each against all corrupt INEC officials that will engage in obstructing or hindering the free flow of democracy and due process in the coming governorship and state assembly elections on March 18.

According to Comrade Igboayaka, “Any INEC official that attempts to subvert the wishes of the people by alteration of result figures should be hanged a condemned tyre on his or her neck and send him or her to God for judgment.

“There’s no need waiting for the judiciary for those that will commit electoral fraud on Saturday 18th March 2023. Make available one person, one tyre for any criminal INEC official from the polling units to the collation centers that will change election results to favour a particular politician or candidate or fails to transmit the results electronically immediately after counting and recording of votes at the polling units.

“It’s time to demonstrate our venom and anger on the continuous penury and unemployment that have ravaged every Nigerian youth since 24 years to any agent of Election Riggers.”

He pointed out that the rigging with impunity by Governor Nyesom Wike and his cohorts in Rivers state during the February 25th presidential election would not be tolerated this time, adding that “anyone who dares that in Rivers will surely receive one tyre on his or her neck to meet God for judgement. Those who claim to be super-man should throw their towel of competence and acceptability on the people without any form of intimidation or threat against the wishes of the people.”

“Most importantly, Ndigbo would not take the threats coming from Bola Tinubu/APC agents of darkness for granted. We acknowledged the fact and disagreed that Lagos is Not ‘No Man’s Land,’ Yes! Lagos belongs to the Yorubas, nevertheless, Bola Tinubu is not a Lagosian, he’s originally from Osun state and the Igbo tribe have contributed immensely in the building of Lagos to become a viable cosmopolitan city it is today. Igbos in Lagos and wherever they are domiciled across the country, will continue to enthrone good governance and candidates that has the ability to achieve this. Ndigbo are not hiding their position that His Excellency, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of Labour Party (LP) remains the most credible guber candidate and without regret will enjoy 100% votes of Ndigbo in Lagos State, while Arch. Pastor Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will enjoy 100% votes of Ndigbo in Rivers State.

“It’s very important to treat any electoral officer caught engaging in criminal activities, be it RECs or POs that have taken money from politicians to upturn results, like a common criminal, by hanging burning tyres on their necks and sending them to God. This will genuinely serve as a lesson to all generations in Nigeria political history.

“There’s no going back on ‘One Person, One Tyre’ to any biased INEC Electoral Fraudster, including political thugs working for politicians,” Igboayaka stated.

2023: Greg Ibe/APGA Still in Abia Guber Race

0

Our attention has been drawn to a fallacious and apparently malicious online publication by Famous Reporters mischievously purporting a fairy tale withdrawal from the governorship race by Prof Gregory Ibe of Abia APGA for Mascot Uzor Kalu of APP.

We therefore write to make the following clarifications;

That the said publication is completely false, totally mendacious and the hallucinatory imagination of Charity Uwakwe, publisher of the infamous Famous Reporters, who in search for cheap publicity decided to concoct a totally baseless and unfounded fallacy against the person of Prof Ibe.

That there is no reason for Prof Ibe to withdraw from a race which he has already won since every available poll analysis place him above other contenders.

That the write up is a big joke and a clear insult to the person of Prof Ibe, who has so far manifested seriousness by triumphing over many adversaries in 19 out of 22 court cases at Magistrate, High, Appeal and Supreme Court levels, in pursuit of this same governorship project.

That we consider as highly provocative insinuations contained in the said article since without sounding immodest, Mr Mascot Kalu, the candidate of APP, in every ramification is too junior to the person of Prof Ibe and should subsequently be seen according due respect and honour to his elder.

That the article is nothing but a failed attempt at applying the propaganda strategy of deploying a strong brand like Prof Ibe to accord visibility to a weaker brand which Mascot Kalu represents through the act of name dropping.

That Charity Uwakwe of Famous Reporters is advised to immediately bring down the fake publication and subsequently publish and circulate widely an apology or be prepared to meet us in court for libel as our lawyers have been properly briefed.

That the public should disregard the publication as a fabricated lie from the pit of hell and the hatchet job of a desperate pen pusher for little pecuniary benefits and should rather sustain their voceferous, aggressive and massive support for Prof Ibe whose chiefest pursuit remains the liberation of Abia state from many years of under development, which Mascot Kalu and his family participated in and greatly benefitted from, using the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA)

Unconfirmed Number Of Person Feared Killed As Shiites Clash With El-Rufai ‘s Convoy

0

An unspecified number of people have been reportedly killed following a clash between the members of the proscribed Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) popularly known as Shiites and security details attacked to the Convoy of Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state.

The incident happened on Thursday at Rigasa area along the Nnamdi Azikiwe Western bypass in Igabi local government when the Governor went to flag off the reconstruction of the road that leads to the Kaduna International Airport.

According to some sources in the area, the governor’s convoy ran into the IMN members who were protesting along the road demanding for the release of international travel documents of their leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El- Zakzaky and his wife Zeenat by the Federal Government.

A member of the group, Mohammed Ibrahim told Channels Television that the IMN members started their Procession from Gwamna Road junction heading to Bakinruwa along the express way, when they met the Governor’s convoy coming in the opposite direction. He claims that the security details attached to the Governor’s convoy immediately opened fire on the innocent protesters, and in the process killed some of their members and injured several others.

The police authorities in Kaduna State are yet to comment on the incident, but government official who was in the Governor’s convoy told our correspondent that the shitte members were heavily armed with dangerous weapons during the Procession, and on sighting the governor’s convoy, they started attacking the vehicles with catapults and other dangerous weapons, and in the process injured some occupants of the vehicles and passers-by.

He wondered why the security details would have opened fire on innocent people unprovoked, noting that the shitte members already had a sinister motive to embark on the procession in a bid to cause violence in the state.

Military seek public cooperation over ban on use of camouflage, receiving or making calls at checkpoint

0

BY SULE TAHIR.

The Nigerian Military has appealed on civilians wearing camouflage and making or receiving calls at checkpoint to stop such habit’s henceforth or to be made to face the wrath of the law.

Major General Rogers Nicholas, the Chief of Civil/ Military Affairs of the Nigerian Army made the appeal at the third National Human rights Commission/ Nigerian Military Dialogue on Human Rights in Abuja.

” The Nigerian Army through its officer’s seek for public cooperation as they enforce the ban on civilians to stop wearing camouflage and making or receiving calls at checkpoints”

Nicholas stated that all forms of camouflage had been banned by the President except that of the Nigerian Army for security reasons.
He said only those outside the military operational environment would be allowed to wear any form of camouflage since it was being used by insurgents to create havoc.

He noted that making or receiving phone calls at military checkpoints was also a security issue as phones were sometimes used to detonate explosives.
He said: “Several Improvised Explosive Devices are triggered with a mobile phone.

“So, someone pretending to make a call at a checkpoint just blows up our men.
“For those on bicycles or motorcycles, we ask them to come down because sometimes people come with guns on motorcycles and just shoot at them or throw the explosive devices.

“Men of the Nigerian Army are also humans who have families and would not just want to be killed like that, particularly while on duty.
“We have placed signs alerting people that they are approaching a military checkpoint as this is in line with international best practices world over.

“So we urge Nigerians to just cooperate with us because all we are doing is to ensure that their security is guaranteed.”
Nicholas said the military men also had rights that needed to be protected.
He, however, expressed regrets over the inconveniences Nigerians were experiencing on account of these measures.

He said they were temporary measures meant to address the current security situation and gave the assurance that the measures would be relaxed as soon as the situation improved.

The Executive Secretary of the Commission, Prof. Bem Angwe, advised the military to make conscious efforts to educate Nigerians on some of the measures taken.
Angie said: “Educating the public on these issues is necessary because if the public is enlightened, they will be more willing to comply.”

Angwe said the commission would ensure that the rights of every Nigerian, including the military, were protected and respected.

“INEC Is Still Refusing Us Access To Election Materials” – Legal Adviser, Labour Party

0

The Labour party lead Counsel, Livy Uzoukwu has continued to express to the public the unwillingness of the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] to comply with the dictates of the law and the pronouncement of the law courts.

The lead Counsel had earlier called on the INEC to abide by the instructions of the Court – that instructed the INEC to make available all materials requested by the Labour Party concerning the presidential elections of February 25, 2023. This was as a result of the INEC’s refusal to release the sensitive materials in a timely manner.

It took the threat of a national strike for the INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmoud Yakubu to convene a meeting with the team of lawyers from the Labour party. At the meeting the INEC chairman promised to provide the materials and assured the lawyers that the INEC will never deny them access to the matters.

This was five days ago.

Yesterday, the INEC released materials for two [2] States instead of the thirty six [36] States.   Prompting the lead counsel to react in an interview with Arise News – “We needed 36 States, we requested for 9 states as at today we have only been allowed access to 2 states, I am not impressed with INEC”.

There is palpable fear the INEC may not deliver the necessary materials needed by the Lawyers in order to meeting the twenty one [21] day deadline. There is also concern the INEC may be wilfully delaying the release of the materials.

LP Chairman Comr. Ibrahim Idoko Otene suspended indefinitely

From Msurshima Andrew, Makurdi

The State Working Committee of the Labour Party in Benue State has passed a vote of no confidence and suspended indefinitely the Chairman of its party, Comrade Ibrahim Idoko Otene.

A statement signed by the Acting Chairman and Vice Chairman of Zone C, Elder Pius Ominyi, and the Publicity Secretary, Kengkeng Ati, said Otene was suspended for anti-party activities.

The decision was taken in compliance with the disciplinary measures of the party as stated in Articles 18 and 20 of the party’s constitution after an emergency meeting of the State Working Committee which held in Makurdi on Thursday.

Recall that the State Chairman of Labour Party, Engr Ibrahim Idoko Otene, had led members of the party to government house in Makurdi where he endorsed the PDP candidate Titus Uba for Governorship elections

According to him, the decision of the party to support Uba to win the governorship election was sequel to the collaboration the presidential candidate of the party, Mr Peter Obi received from the PDP in the state.

In the meeting, details of “Idoko’s hobnobbing” activities with the PDP were reviewed and his sole endorsement of the PDP candidate were condemned even as members were urged to disregard with immediate effect the endorsement as null and void.

The meeting appointed Deputy Chairman of the party in Benue South Senatorial District, Zone C Elder Pius Ominyi to act as Chairman of the party until the investigative panel concludes it investigations.

Meanwhile, the acting Chairman has directed all structures of the party and Obidients in general to go out en masse and vote for Rt. Hon. Herman Iorwase Hembe for Governor and all Labour Party candidates for House of Assembly on Saturday March 18th 2023.
