The Anambra state Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala has announced the launch of the state’s Covid-19 daily case update.
The daily update chart was listed according to number of cases per each of the twenty-one local government areas of the state.
The move, according to the Commissioner would serve to arm the citizens with sufficient information concerning the spread, containment and treatment of Covid-19 pandemic in the state.
Meanwhile, the major Eke-Awka market located at the Centre of the state capital Awka was closed down from today (Monday, June 15,2020) for the next fourteen days due to the non compliance of the Covid-19 prevention protocols by the leadership of the market.
According to a statement from the state government, the closure was a warning to all the other markets in the state. The markets were accused for not strictly observing use of face masks, regular washing of hands, maintenance of social distancing, etc.
The markets in the state were re-opened only about three weeks ago.
