*ARREST OF THUGS AND THUGGERY SUSPECTS  (‘YAN DABA):-

* On the 18/05/2020 at about 2330hrs, raids conducted at various criminal hideouts of Thugs (‘Yan Daba) within Kano metropolitan such as Gwagwarwa, Dala, Panshekara, Sharada, Rijiyan Lemo, Gwangwzo and Warure Quarters led to the arrest of forty two (42) suspected yan Daba. On investigations, some of their gang leaders were identified as one Yusuf Umar ‘m’ of Gwangwazo Quarters and one Balo Balo ‘m’ of Sharada Quarters. The suspects freely confessed to have been terrorizing the areas and some dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, knives, clubs (Gora) and other intoxicating substances were recovered.

*ARREST OF SUSPECTS FOR CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, ARMED ROBBERY, CULPABLE HOMICIDE AND BEING INPOSSESSION OF PROHIBITED FIREARM:-*  

On the 04/07/2020 at about 1800hrs, a complaint was received from one Abdullahi Isah ‘m’ of Rantan Village, Bebeji Local Government Area, Kano State that on the 02/07/2020 at about 0110hrs, unknown Armed Robbers attacked him at his resident and robbed him the sum of Four Hundred Thousand Naira (N400,000.00). A combine Teams of Operation Puff Adder attached to the command’s *Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS)* and Police Team from Bebeji Division were detailed to produce the culprits in 24hours. On the same date at about 1800hrs, the Puff Adder Teams while acting on credible information stormed a house at Rantan Village, Bebeji LGA Kano State and arrested (1) Ibrahim Isyaku ‘m’  AKA Kawu 35 years old (2) Ahmadu Isyaku ‘m’ AKA Shiddi 45 years old. On spot search in the house, Two (2) AK-47 Riffles, Two (2) Magazines containing Forty One (41) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunitions, One (1) Single Barrel Gun with Four (4) live cartridges, a set of suspected Army Camouflage uniforms and One (1) Operational Jacket Shirt while trying to be concealed in a bag by the mother of the suspects one Aisha Isyaku ‘f’ 60 years old were recovered and she was subsequently arrested. Investigation led to the arrest of one Abdulkadir Musa ‘m’ AKA Malam Malam 40 years old of ‘Yan Mariya Village, Tudun Wada LGA, Kano State at his house located in the same address where One (1) Locally Made Single Barrel Gun with One (1) live Cartridge was recovered. Also one Shehu Isah ‘m’ of Rantan Village, a younger brother to the complainant that provided information on the victim to the Armed Robbers was also arrested.

 Investigation also revealed that; the same syndicate stormed the residence of Hon. Chairman of Birniwa LGA in Dolen-Kwana Village, Jigawa State, killed a Police Officer, one Sergeant Mohammed Ibrahim on guard duty and took away his AK-47 Riffle which was recovered in possession of Ibrahim Isyaku AKA Kawu. Suspects confessed to their offences. However, investigation is in progress.

*ARREST OF SUSPECTS FOR ARMED ROBBERY AND KIDNAPPING:-*

 On the 20/05/2020 at about 1100hrs, a report received from one Bashir Lawan ‘m’ of Dorayi Quarters Kano that on the 19/05/2020 at about 1900hrs, unknown Armed men kidnap his Father, Alhaji Lawan Abdullahi ‘m’ 73years old of same address and demanded a ransom. Immediately; a team of Operation Puff-Adder attached to Anti-Kidnapping Squad Kano were detailed to arrest the perpetrators. The team swung in to action and arrested the following suspects. (1) Yahuza Ibrahim ‘m’ aged 40years old of Mariri Quarters Kano (2) Hassan Umar ‘m’ aged 24years old of Naibawa Quarters Kano and a Honda Henessy Motor Vehicle was recovered from him. Investigation also led to the arrest of one Musa Alhaji Lawan ‘m’ aged 37 years old of Dorayi Quarters Kano, a house boy to the victim and discovered that his real name is Abdulhadi Falalu ‘m’ and hails from Ikara LGA in Kaduna State but resides in Kano and coordinates Armed Robbery and Kidnapping within Kano and neighbouring States. The following members of the syndicate were also arrested; (1) Nasiru Tukur ‘m’ aged 32years of Soba L.G.A., Kaduna State (2) Sani Abdulsalam ‘m’ aged 35years of Soba L.G.A. Kaduna State (3) Abubakar Muhammad ‘m’ aged 23years of Gaida Quarters Kano (4) Idris Yau ‘m’ aged 22years of Gaida Quarters Kano. Also one Musa Isah ‘m’ 35 years old of Mariri Quarters Kano that provided an uncompleted building for keeping the victim hostage was also arrested. Further investigation also revealed that on the 10/07/2020 at about 0100hrs, the same syndicate conspired with the following; (1) Ibrahim Sani ‘m’ aged 21 years of Garin Babba Village, Garin Mallam LGA Kano State (2) Lawan Shehu ‘m’ aged 30 years of Ranka Village, Bebeji LGA Kano State (3) Anas Ibrahim ‘m’ aged 21 years of Ranka Village, Bebeji LGA Kano State (4) Sani Lawan ‘m’ aged 25 years of Kiru LGA Kano State and (5) Umar Abubakar ‘m’ aged 30 years of Kwaba Village, Kiru LGA Kano State and attacked the residence of one Abdulhamid Ahmed ‘m’ 35 years of Kwabe Village Kwanar Dangora, Kiru LGA Kano State and robbed him the sum of Four Hundred Thousand Naira (N 400,000.00), his Pontiac Vibe Motor Vehicle, Red in Colour valued One Million Eight Hundred Thousand Naira (N 1, 800,000.00), kidnap him where they demanded ransom. All suspects were arrested. Investigation led to the recovery of the said Pontaic Vibe Motor Vehicle at a Mechanical Garage located at Unguwa Uku Quarters Kano. The mechanic one Ibrahim Nasir ‘m’ 48 years old of Unguwa Uku Quarters Kano was arrested while in the process of painting the vehicle. One Dahiru Lawan ‘m’ aged 32 years old of Naibawa Quarters Kano that provided a house at Naibawa Quarters Kano for keeping the victim hostage was also arrested. Exhibits recovered includes; (1) A locally made Gun (2) Three Motorcycles (3) Documents of a plot of land bought from the ransom collected (4) Cash, sum of Three Hundred and Twenty Seven Thousand Naira (N327,000.00). Investigation revealed that the suspects operate as a syndicate of Armed Robbery and Kidnapping that terrorizes Kano, Kaduna, Katsina and Jigawa States. All suspects confessed to the offences.  Investigation is in progress.

  *ARREST OF MOTOR VEHICLES THIEVES AND RECOVERY OF STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE:-*  

On the 22/05/2020 at about 2000hrs, Team of *Operation Puff Adder* attached to *Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS)* Kano, based on credible information while on surveillance patrol at Gaida Quarters Kano arrested the following suspects: (1) Bashir Lawan ‘m’ aged 35yrs of Kurna Quarters (2) Musa Muhammed ‘m’ aged 40 yrs of Rimin Kebe Quarters Kano (3) Nasiru Abubakar ‘m’ aged 42 yrs of Kurna Quarters Kano in connection with a case of Criminal Conspiracy and Theft of Motor vehicle. Suspects confessed to have participated in series of Motor Vehicles stealing. One of the suspects; Bashir Lawan was arrested with one Golf Motor Vehicle with Reg No. ABM 379 AA Green in colour. Suspect also confessed to have stole the said Motor Vehicle from Katsina State. Case under investigation.

*ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS & RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITIONS:-*

 On the 23/05/2020 at about 1730hrs, based on credible information, the Command’s Tactical Team of Operation Puff Adder arrested one Abdulsamad Abdullahi ‘m’ of Sauna Quarters Kano in possession of robbed Huawei Mobile Handset. On checking the robbed Handset, some snapped shots of live cartridges were seen. During interrogation, the suspect freely confessed to belong to a six man robbery gang syndicate that terrorizes road users along Gabasawa and Gezawa LGAs of Kano State up to Garki, Gumel and Hadejia LGAs in  Jigawa State. On 24/05/2020 at about 1530hrs, the suspect led Puff Adder Operatives to Guruma Village of Gabasawa LGA Kano where one Ahmadu Abdullahi aka kwalle was arrested. On spot search, one Dane gun and a knife was recovered in his house,  and the suspect further led operatives to Ladin Makole village in Dawakin kudu LGA Kano where one Samaila Lawal aka na Yahiya a black smith   was arrested in connection with the case, on spot search 3 rounds of 9mm ammunition and blacksmith tools were recovered in his workshop. Sometimes about 3yrs ago, the same suspect (Samaila na Yahaya) was convicted for unlawful possession of locally made pistol with three live cartridges. On 25/05/2020 at about 1600hrs, the suspect Samaila na Yahyah further  led operatives to  Mariri Quarters, Kumbotso LGA Kano  where one Sani Abubakar aka Ambursa, a 65yrs old ‘m’ of Mariri Quarters Kano  was  arrested. On spot search in his house, one (1) AK47 Rifle and it’s magazine with 75 rounds of 7.62mm, 63 rounds of 5.56mm, 87 rounds of 9mm ammunitions were recovered in his house. The suspect claimed that the AK47 Rifle and ammunitions recovered were given to him to be disposed by one Mohammed Sani Sale. In  2012, Sani Abubakar aka Ambursa was arrested in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy & terrorism, I.e boko haram sect where the following exhibits were recovered in his car, Browning pistol with its magazine, 1 black bullet prove jacket, some parts of pump action gun, 4 live ammunitions, 4 live cartridge’s and other incriminating items. Also on the   26/5/2020 at about 1500hrs, the said Mohammed Sani was arrested in his residence. On spot search,  one pistol magazine with 3 rounds of 9mm ammunition, one cartridge, 8 army camouflage shirt, 4 army camouflage trousers 1 army cap were found in his room. During investigation, the suspect confessed to the ownership of the AK47 rifle but only confessed of given Ambursa 6 or 7 rounds of AK47 ammunitions.

  On 28/5/2020 at about 1300hrs,  the suspect Abdulsamad led operatives to Yankaba Quarters Nasarawa LGA Kano where the following syndicate members were arrested Abdullahi Adamu 27yrs of Kankan village, Saidu Sale 47yrs of Andawa village, Zubairu Mohammed 30yrs of Dogarai village  all in Gezawa LGA Kano.  Effort  is being intensified for the arrest other accomplice.

*ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS AND RECOVERY OF FIREARM:-*

 On the 24/05/2020 at about 1000hrs. *Operation Puff-Adder* attached to *Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) Kano,* based on credible information while on surveillance patrol at Sauna Quarters Kano, arrested one suspect Abdulsamad Abdullahi ‘m’  aged 25 yrs of Sauna Quarters Kano in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy and Armed Robbery. Suspects confessed to the crime. On the same date at about 1707 hrs, the said suspects led the operatives to Gezawa and Gabasawa LGAs Kano State were the following suspects  (1) Amadu Abdullahi (2) Usman Ahmed a.k.a Kwalle ‘m’ Aged 35 years of Guruma village (2) Usman Ahmed a.k.a Fodio ‘m’ aged 28 years of Yarkanya both of Gabasawa LGA Kano (3) usman Alhaji ‘m’ aged 38 years of Kuka Village (4) Umar Samaila a.k.a Rakiji ‘m’ aged 22 years both of Gezawa LGA Kano were arrested as members of his syndicate. On spot and search, one Dane Gun was recovered in possession of a suspect Amadu Abdullahi A.K.A Kwalle, during the course of investigation, the suspects confessed to have participated in series of Armed Robbery operations, in addition suspects confessed to have been blocking Gabasawa/Ringim /Gezawa and Gumel High Way along Jigawa-Kano Border, robbing members of the public. Case under investigation.

*ARREST OF THUGS AND THUGGERY SUSPECTS (YAN DABA):-*

 On 25/05/2020 at about 2330hrs, based on credible intelligence, a joint raid was carried out with different volunteer groups at Warure, Zage, Yar mai Shinkafi, Kwanar Boda, Mandawari, Kwana Hudu, Kofar Naisa by cemetery, Dan Agundi which led to the arrest of thirty three (33) suspects and recovered some quantities of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, Knives, suck and die and some other intoxicants. During investigation, the suspects freely confessed to the crime. Discreet investigation revealed that one Munir Yusuf ‘m’ of Kwana Hudu aged 37 years and Abbas Usman ‘m’ of same address were identified as their gang leaders. The suspects were charged to court for prosecution. 

*RAID OF CRIMINAL HIDEOUTS:-*

  On the 27/05/2020 at about 1945hrs, the Command’s Tactical Team of Operation Puff Adder attached to Anti-Daba raided some criminal hideout within Kano Metropolitan at Zage, Kwanar Boda, Mandawari, Kwanar Gabari and Yar mai Shinkafi Quarters Kano which led to the arrest of twenty two (22) suspects with assorted intoxicants such as fifty nine (59) bottles of codeine syrup, large quantity of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, thirty seven intoxicant (37) injections and one hundred and six (106) cards of rephanol tablets were recovered.

*ARREST OF SUSPECTED INDIAN HEMP DEALERS:*

   On the 31/05/2020 at about 2230hrs, based on credible intelligence, the Command’s Tactical Team of *Operation Puff Adder* while on surveillance patrol along eastern bye-pass by Walawai Quarters Kano, intercepted Two (2) Motor Vehicles with Reg. No. GWL 404 XA and AS 392 FGE respectively loaded with four hundred and thirty one (431) parcels of dry leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp. During interrogation the suspects freely confessed to the crime. At about 0345hrs of same date, one Musa Suleiman 43yers ‘m’ of Shantake Village of Danbatta LGA was also arrested in possession of one (1) bag of dry leave suspected to be Indian Hemp. 

*ARREST OF KIDNAPPING SUSPECTS:-*

 On the 05/06/2020 at about 1300hrs, one (1) suspect named Dahiru Musa ‘m’ age 33 Years a.k.a Banda of Unguwar Makere Village of Kiru LGA Kano was arrested in connection with a case of Criminal Conspiracy, Armed Robbery and Kidnapping. Suspect confessed to the Crime and mentioned the above following as members of his syndicate (1) Aminu Suleiman (2) Ibrahim Isiyaku (3) Lawan Muhammed all ‘m’ who are presently under detention mine. Case under investigation.

*ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY AND KIDNAPPING SUSPECTS:-*

 On the 05/06/2020 at about 1400hrs, a suspect Dahiru Musa was handed over to the Police with Multiple Injuries all over his body by MOB Action for Armed Robbery. Investigation was launched and the suspect led Operatives to Madobi LGA Kano where one of his syndicate member one (1) Ibrahim Isa ‘m’ aged 22yrs of Kasuwar Gemu Village Madobi LGA Kano was arrested on 06/06/2020 at about 1630Hrs the said suspect Dahiru Musa ‘m’ led Operatives to Bari Village Rogo LGA Kano State  where one (1) Alh Ado Dan Yaro a.k.a Yellow 35 Yrs old of Kyarana Village of Kiru LGA Kano was arrested, suspect confessed to have participated in series of Armed Robbery and Kidnapping within the Following Areas Kiru/Madobi/Rogo LGA Kano State and suspect also confessed to have participated in the Kidnapping of the following (1) Alh Muttaka Sa’adu Kiru ‘m’ (2) Hajia Maryam Sa’adu ‘f’ of Kiru LGA Kano (3) Village Head of Jirgwai Alh Inusa Jirgwai ‘m’ of Madobi LGA kano (4) Saratu Idris Ado ‘f’ (5) Debora Yohanna ‘f’ of Gidan Mato Bari Village Rogo LGA Kano. Investigation is in progress.

*ARREST OF KIDNAPPING SUSPECTS:*

  On the 10/06/2020 at about 0053hrs, a report was received that one Danyaro Sule ‘m’ A.K.A. Yellow criminally conspired with (2) Ibrahim Alhaji Auta A.K.A. Dan Bokolo ‘m’ (3) Dahiru Musa A.K.A. Bamula (4) Ibrahim Isyaku ‘m’ (5) Alhaji Mai Panda ‘m’ (6)Yellow (SNU) ‘m’ all of different addresses. Armed themselves with offensive weapons such as Four (4) AK47 Riffles, sticks and cutlasses, stormed into a residence Idris Ado Zubairu at Gidan mato Bari of Rogo LGA Kano State, robbed him and kidnapped his wife one Saratu Idris Ado ‘f’ and his office secretary one Deborah Yohanna to an unknown destination demanded and collected the ransom of six million naira (N6, 000,000:00) before their release. Team of  Opearation Puff Adder were deployed and suspects were arrested.

*ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS AND NOTORIOUS RECEIVERS/CAR THIEVES:-*

  On 19/06/2020 at about 0145hrs, based on credible information, Operatives of *Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) Kano* arrested the following suspects at Dandagoro Village, Batagarawa LGA Katsina one (1) Surajo Usman ’m’ aged 50 Yrs a.k.a Mai’Akuya of Bachirawa Qtrs Kano (2) Auwalu Musa ‘m’ aged 25 Yrs of Hotoro Qtrs Kano. In connection with a case of Criminal Conspiracy, Armed Robbery, Car Snatching, and receiving Robbed Vehicles. Suspects specialized in snatching Motor Vehicles within Kano State, Jigawa State, Katsina State and other Neighbouring States. Suspect Surajo Usman a.k.a Mai’akuya led Operatives to the recovery of Two (2) Motor Vehicles in his house one (1) Toyota Corolla S with Registration No. KZ 01 KNT Ash in colour (2) One (1) Golf III Wagon with registration No. ABJ 709 AH. Maroun Colour and also some Bunch of Keys including a fabricated False key (Master Key) suspect confessed to have Robbed/Snatched the Two (2) Cars at Funtua and Katsina Town. Case under investigation.    

*CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, AREMED ROBBERY AND RECEIVING ROBBED PROPERTIES:*

 On the 24/06/2020 at about 1545Hrs based on credible information, Team of *Operation Puff-Adder* attached to *Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) Kano* while on patrol along Rangaza Quarters Ungogo L.GA arrested one (1) Abdullahi Muhammad ‘m’ 25Years of the same address in connection with the above mention case.

 On investigation, suspect confessed that on 06/05/2020 at about 0100hrs, himself and the following (1) Yusuf Umar ‘m’ 23years (2) Musa Abdullahi ‘m’ 23years (3) Umar Abdullahi ‘m’ 23 years all of Hotoro Qtrs Kano stormed Habbas Multi-Ventures Limited Bonded Terminal (Vehicles) No. 85/71 Jido Village Rijiyar Gwangwan Qtrs Maiduguri Road attacked and tied security Guard on duty inflated various degrees of injuries on him   and carted away the following Motor vehicles (1) Honda CRV Dark in colour unregistered (2) Toyota matrix dark ash in colour unregistered three (3) Plasma Television (TV) the two (2) motor vehicles and one plasma TV were recovered from the Suspects. Case under investigation.

On the 30/06/2020 at about 1730hrs, Team of Operation Puff Adder attached to Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) Kano State command, while on surveillance patrol along Zaria Road by Dakatsalle Village, Bebeji Local Government Area Kano State arrested one Isah Bala ‘m’ aged 20 years in connection with a case of Criminal Conspiracy and Armed Robbery and receiving Robbery properties. during investigation, suspect confessed to have participated in a series of stolen motorcycles. And also mentioned the following as members of his syndicate. (1) Usman Hassan ‘m’ aged 27 years (2) Adamu yusuf ‘m’ aged 20 years (3) Hafizu Abdulmumini ‘m’ aged 21 years old all from Bebeji Local Government Area Kano. On spot search, one unregistered Boxer Motorcycle was recovered in possession of Adamu Yusuf, also one Black Jincheng Motorcycle recovered in possession of Hafizu Abdullahi. Investigation is in progress.

     On the 05/07/2020 at about 1430hrs, based on credible information received. *Puff Adder Operatives* attached to *Special Anti Robbry Squad Kano* while on surveillance Patrol along Tudun Murtala way by HOLBON Nig Plc Maimalari Road Kano intercepted one truck with Reg No. TOO 94 YB loaded with  Two Thousand Two Hundred and Sixty Five (2,265) cottons of incense stick burner driving by One Ali Usman ‘m’ aged 26 Yrs of Potiskum L.G.A Yobe State driving from Lagos to Yobe State during the course of Investigation, the following suspects were arrested (1) Abdullahi Idris ‘m’ aged of brigade Quarters Kano (2) Murtala Ali ‘m’ aged 30 years of Hotoro Qrts Kano (3) Zakari yau Husaini ‘m’ aged 29 years of Kontagora L.G.A Niger State all in connection with case of criminal conspiracy and diversion of the said products. Suspects confessed that the goods were stolen from Iddo Lagos State and brought to Kano to be sold. Case under investigation. 

On the 05/07/2020 at about 1645hrs, based on credible information, the Command’s Tactical Team of Operation Puff-Adder arrested the following suspects along Mariri/Naibawa Quarters (1) Aliyu Abdullahi ‘m’ age 24years (2) Usman Usman ‘m’ aged 21 years all of Naibawa Quarters in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy Armed robbery and being in possession of toy Gun. Suspects confessed to the crime. Suspects also confessed to have participated in series of armed robbery operation within Hotoro/Naibawa/Unguwa Uku Quarters Kano. Case under investigation.

*RECOVERY OF STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE:*

On 10/07/2020 about 0800Hrs operatives attached to *SARS Kano* Command on surveillance along filin Polo Kano recovered an abandoned motor vehicle make one (1) Mitsubishi Canter registration No. GME 127 ZU the said truck was abandoned during investigation one (1) Shuaibu Yahaya ‘m’  of Ungogo Road reported at Dakata police station that on 16/06/2020 at about 1300Hrs the said Motor vehicle Truck was Stole away at Juma’at (Friday) Mosque at Dakata Qtrs by unknown Hoodlums. Case under investigation.
