ABUJA, NIGERIA — Human rights crusader and political activist Omoyele Sowore has sent a clear, unyielding message to the Federal Government, declaring that “no force on earth” can halt the momentum of his political revolution.

Sowore spoke out boldly today, Tuesday, June 30, 2026, just moments after emerging from the Federal High Court in Abuja, where Justice Mohammed Umar admitted him to a fresh ₦200 million bail. The publisher’s fierce rhetoric has injected new energy into the brewing political standoff, firmly shifting the narrative back to his ideological struggle against the state.

The Defiant Stance: “We Warned Them”

Stepping into the court premises surrounded by supporters and members of the Take It Back Movement, Sowore maintained that his recent remand at the Kuje Correctional Centre had done nothing to break his resolve. Reflecting on his brief detention and the chaotic legal drama orchestrated by state operatives, the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate stated that the state was warned about trying to suppress public discontent.

“There is no force on earth that can stop this revolution. We warned them, but they didn’t listen,” Sowore declared defiantly today.

The Passport Battle: A Strategic State Target?

A major focal point of today’s strict bail conditions was the judicial mandate requiring Sowore to surrender his travel documents to the Deputy Chief Registrar of the court. The defense team informed the court that the activist’s international passport is currently with the United States Embassy in Lagos, requiring a personal appearance to retrieve it for the court.

Addressing the passport requirement, Sowore alleged that the security apparatus has always harbored an obsession with restricting his movement and keeping him trapped within the country’s borders. Despite the stringent nature of the bail terms—which also require a recognized traditional ruler from his Ondo State community and an Abuja property owner to act as sureties—Sowore remained unfazed about the legal hurdles ahead.

“I was granted ₦200 million bail. They have always been after my passport. When we get to that bridge, we will cross it,” he stated confidently.

The Substantive Battle Ahead

With the bail variation successfully extracted today, the court has officially released Sowore into the custody of his legal team. However, his ultimate freedom hangs in the balance as the substantive trial is scheduled to resume on Monday, July 6, 2026.

The DSS is prosecuting the publisher on severe cybercrime charges for allegedly defaming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by calling him a “criminal” in digital posts last year. While civil rights groups have condemned the conditions as “punitive, oppressive, and excessive,” Sowore’s inner circle maintains that the courtroom will serve as a megaphone to further expose the government’s democratic backsliding.

As the legal defense officially opens on July 6, 247ureports will be live at the federal court to provide comprehensive coverage.
