A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Anambra State, Elder Ken Emechebe, has urged Ndigbo to vote for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in the 2019 election.

Emechebe, who is the national coordinator, a pro Igbo group, Eastern Peoples Front, insisted that Ndigbo would only get a fair share if the PDP candidate wins.

He noted that Ndigbo constitutes over 84 million voters in the country and should speak in one accord in 2019, to support a candidate who best understands the problems of the zone and how to solve it.

The APC chieftain accused ex president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and his successor, Muhammadu Buhari, of neglecting Ndigbo and denying the zone of federal presence and boasted that he doesn’t mind being expelled from the APC for mobilizing support for Atiku.

“Many sons of Igbo extraction, joined APC because we were embittered by the neglect the eastern zone suffered under the administration of President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan; despite the fact that he bears the great name of Azikiwe, a name that is worshiped in Igbo land, Jonathan starved the southeast of federal presence, we could not point to one single project instituted by Jonathan in the entire South East so we said enough was enough and decamped to the APC to support President Muhammadu Buhari but alas, almost 4 years down the line, Buhari has showed us that Ndigbo mean nothing to him.

“I urge Ndigbo, irrespective of the political party they have associated with, to come out in mass to support Atiku. Atiku has promised to restructure the nation and has pledged to hold power for just 4 years, Atiku has also identified with Ndigbo by choosing an Igbo son as his deputy”

Emechebe was accompanied to a sensitization tour of the 17 local government areas in Abia state, by former Abia deputy governor, Chris Akomas; ex minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo; former Anambra deputy governor, Mrs Stella Odife, Chancellor of Gregory University, Prof. Greg Ibe, among others,
