Awka Capital City was yesterday Sunday evening, greeted with horror when gunmen stormed the Town and killed a popular City Celebrity Mr Isaac Nwosu aka Aizza Nwosu and three other yet to be identified persons .
The gunmen who came on a tinted corrola saloon car opened fire on the street which resulted in the death of the four persons.

Aizza Nwosu, a professional Master of Ceremony in most occasions as well as a public address announcer and comedian is also known for his comic and societal interface with the public and regarded as a modern day Town Crier.
It is not clear the cause of his being attacted but the Anambra state Police Command which confirmed the incident has commenced investigations into the matter.
It also condemned in the strongest terms the gunshot attacks carried out by unidentified gunmen and has consequently intensified the ongoing manhunt for the perpetrators and is calling for the support and cooperation of members of the public to assist in bringing the suspects to justice.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer SP Tochukwu Ikenga ;
“Information gathered so far reveals that three unidentified persons, travelling in a silver-coloured Toyota Corolla, with registration number yet to be ascertained, reportedly shot two persons at separate locations within Awka. Upon receipt of the distress information, Command operatives immediately mobilised patrol teams to the affected areas and commenced efforts to track down the assailants”
“Upon arrival at the scenes, the operatives recovered the bodies of the victims along Capital City Road, Amaenyi, and S.M. Okeke Street, Amaikwo, Awka, respectively”
“The victims were taken to a hospital, where they were subsequently confirmed dead by medical personnel”
“While one of the victims is yet to be identified, the second victim has been identified as Isaac Nwosu, male, also known as “Azia.”
Continuing the statement stated that operatives also recovered from the scenes the sum of ₦7,550, one Moniepoint ATM card and a pair of slippers.
The Anambra Police Commissioner Nnanna Orji Ama has further directed the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Awka, for discreet and comprehensive investigation, while security operatives have intensified patrols, surveillance and intelligence gathering across Awka and adjoining areas.
“The Command therefore calls on community leaders, residents, motorists, business owners and other members of the public who may have witnessed the incidents or have credible information regarding the suspects, their movements or the vehicle used in the attacks to come forward and assist the Police. Such information will be treated with utmost confidentiality”; the statement concluded.
