The Governor Acting of Taraba state Umar Gadi has donated a whooping N10m to displaced refugees of Taraba state in Nasarawa state, Chairman of refugees in Shabu camp, Mohammed Madaki disclosed this while disbursing money to the beneficiaries amidst tied security.
Madaki in an interview stated that 2150 displaced persons were accommodated at the IDP’s provided by the Government of Nasarawa state,He however averred that chunk of the refugees has vacate the camp.
The chairman commended the support of Taraba state Government for bringing succor to people displaced following a renewed religious crisis that claim lives and properties, Adding that some of the IDP’s has since returned to the trouble Local Government of Wukari and other volatile communities.
He also applauded the frantic measure taken by the Government of Nasarawa by providing shelter and other needs of the people” This commendation cannot be completed without commending Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa”.
He further said Governor Al-Makura donated amount mounting to N2m to the displaced persons excluding other donation from concerned individual, While reacting on the allegation of financial incongruity leveled against him,Madaki debunked the allegation ,Stating that it was a mere fabrication to ridicule his person.
“Is no longer secret of the accusation that i swindle the donation given to the displaced persons, Is a pure game plan to injured my person, We have all records of our financial dealings”. By the way i’m working with other like minds,They are in position to give vivid account of what was accrued to us as a committee,He said
Babangida revealed to Journalist at the camp that the chairman, Mohammed Madaki and his, cronies whom he single handedly appoint are leaving fat on the donation given to them on behalf of the IPD’s.
“The chairman and his committee members disbursed N2000 while some got N1000 and others ended up with N500,We lost confidence on the committee members, But the chairman denied the accusation.In same vain scores of IDP’s displaced in a renewed religious clash that claimed many lives in Wukari join their counterpart in Shabu camp at the weekend,Said Babangida.
