OWERRI — Public outrage has mounted in Owerri, Imo State, following reports of severe physical abuse inflicted on a young domestic worker identified as Ezeanya Angel, a native of Mmaku community in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Images circulating online depict the young victim suffering from severe facial injuries and extreme swelling around her eyes and face, reportedly resulting from a violent physical assault inflicted by her guardian.

The incident has triggered widespread public condemnation, with child rights advocates, civil society organizations, and local residents calling for the immediate intervention of law enforcement and social welfare authorities.
Advocates highlighting the case have called on the Imo State Police Command and the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare to track down the perpetrator, ensure the child’s safety, and initiate criminal prosecution.
