FirstPower Electricity Distribution Company Limited, on Tuesday, commenced strategic visits to its top Maximum Demand (MD) customers as part of efforts to deepen customer engagement, strengthen partnerships and enhance service delivery, beginning with a visit to Rotic Winners Limited, a leading recycling and manufacturing company based in Awka, Anambra State.
The FirstPower delegation, led by its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Okechukwu Okafor, was received by the top Management team of Rotic Winners Ltd., comprising the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Elochukwu Madubuike; the Managing Director, Mr. Ebele Elochukwu; and Director, Onyinye Elochukwu, and during which both parties held strategic discussions on key areas of power supply, industrial growth and operational collaboration.

Speaking during the visit, Engr. Okafor described Rotic Winners as a valued business partner and one of the critical industries driving economic development in Anambra State. He explained that the visit was aimed at understanding the company’s operational challenges in areas of power supply, exploring practical solutions and reassuring Rotic of FirstPower’s commitment to quality service delivery and supporting its growth through improved electricity service.
He gave an overview of FirstPower’s operations and jurisdiction, emphasizing the company’s resolve to build stronger relationships with its customers and ensure their satisfaction.

The FirstPower Boss commended Rotic Winners for its leadership in recycling and converting industrial waste into valuable products, noting that the company’s operations align with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of building a clean, liveable, sustainable and industrially prosperous Anambra State.
He acknowledged that heavy-duty manufacturing depends on stable and reliable electricity, describing FirstPower as a strategic partner committed to providing the energy backbone required for industrial expansion.
Engr. Okafor also highlighted the economic and environmental benefits of embracing electricity from the national grid over self-generation, explaining that reliance on grid power offers manufacturers lower production costs, greater operational predictability and freedom from the high maintenance and volatile fuel costs associated with diesel-powered generation.

To further strengthen the partnership, in reaction to some of the concerns raised by the Rotic Winners Ltd., he assured the company that FirstPower would facilitate the commissioning of its dedicated electricity feeder within the coming weeks, explaining that the infrastructure would provide a direct high-capacity supply line isolated from residential load-shedding and better suited for heavy industrial operations.
He also pledged transparency in energy management through automated industrial metering to enable the company effectively monitor and manage its electricity consumption.
Responding, the Chairman of Rotic Winners Ltd., Mr. Elochukwu Madubuike, acknowledged that electricity remains one of the most critical requirements for the company’s operations, although he noted that other challenges requiring government intervention also exist.

He commended FirstPower for the initiative to strengthen engagement with its customers, while explaining that the company always seeks the most cost-effective means of production.
The Rotic Winners Boss, who earlier highlighted some of their challenges, disclosed that in a bid to secure more reliable power supply, the company invested in constructing a bay at the substation to enable connection to a dedicated feeder, a project that was completed about two years ago after obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals.
He, however, identified the delay in procuring an EDMI meter, as well as Metering Office (MO) certification and commissioning, as the major obstacles delaying the activation of the facility.
Following deliberations, both parties agreed on the temporary deployment of an Itron meter pending the arrival of the EDMI meter, to enable the company commence operations on the dedicated feeder while awaiting full automation.

The Managing Director of Rotic Winners, Mr. Ebele Elochukwu, also attested that electricity supplied through the national grid remains a cleaner and more sustainable source of energy for industrial operations.
The visit climaxed with a guided tour of the company’s facilities by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, during which the FirstPower delegation inspected its production processes and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to fostering stronger partnerships with industries that contribute significantly to the economic growth and industrial development of Anambra State.
Among the FirstPower team who joined in the visit were the Chief Technical Officer, Engr. Dr. Emeka Egbujor; the District Business Manager for Enugwu-Ukwu District, Engr. Izuagie Samuel Martins; Head of Business Intelligence Unit, Mr. Olabisi Odumosu; and Head, Revenue Enhancement, Alex Obiajulu.
