As S/ East NDC Laments Threat To Life Of Members /Supporters
There is growing tension in the South East over the brutally of a supporter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress ( NDC) Mr Maduabuchi Ogbee by the Commissioner for Commerce Hon Oguzor Kanu Offia Nwaliri in Ebonyi state .
This is coming as the members of the NDC in the South East has announced that the lives of their members a d supporters are in danger following the actions of the Commissioner.
Ogbee had gone online to campaign for the House of Assembly candidate of the NDC Bar Rollins Ovunata Offia Nwaliri for Ezza South Constituency who incidentally is the half brother to the Commissioner.
Angered by the online campaign, the Commissioner Oguzor Offia Nwaliri ordered thugs to abduct Ogbee and brought him to his house where he was thoroughly man handed and beaten to pulp.
The Commissioner who is against the ambition of his half brother warned that as long as the 2027 general elections lasts those who are against any candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC would not be speared adding that the attack of Ogbee is a lesson for potential victims .
At the moment, members of the NDC in the South East has under the edges of NDC Forum in a statement by its spokesman in Awka Mr Chumdi Nwachukwu called for the resignation or sack of the Commissioner contending that such men neither have integrity or pedigree to be in public office.
“Our attention has been drawn to the continus brutally on non members of the APC by their chieftain and we condemn this in it’s renumeration given the fact that this is a democratic set up and people are free to support any party or candidate of their choice “
“What is sad here is that the Ebonyi state Police Command has turned black eyes to this act and we call for his resignation or sack by the Governor because such men do not deserve to hold public office “
“We hereby warn that we shall no longer take kindly to this act of thuggery and daylight attacks on our members and we urge the Inspector General of Police to take drastic actions or we would resort to self-help ” the body said .
