KATSINA, Nigeria — Popular Hausa film actor Musa Mai Sana’a was rescued by security personnel in Katsina after being confronted by a crowd of angry youths while attempting to promote President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The incident occurred at the prominent “Welcome to Katsina” city gate in the Dandagoro area of the Katsina metropolis.
Confrontation at the City Gate

Eyewitness accounts and viral video clips show the Kannywood celebrity atop a structure near the city gate attempting to campaign and rally support for the president.
The atmosphere quickly turned hostile as local youths gathered at the base of the gate, shouting at the actor to step down and declaring that the location was not suitable for political campaigning for the current administration.
As tensions escalated, several individuals in the crowd attempted to physically assault the actor, forcing nearby security operatives to step in.
Escorted to Safety
Security forces quickly intervened, shielding Mai Sana’a from the hostile crowd and escorting him away from the scene. Reports indicate the actor left behind personal items, including his cap, as he was rushed into a waiting vehicle to prevent further violence.
No official statement has been issued by law enforcement authorities in Katsina regarding arrests or investigation into the disturbance.
Growing Tensions Over Political Campaigning
The encounter highlights rising political sensitivities and public frustration in parts of Northern Nigeria driven by ongoing economic challenges.
While political disagreements remain common, community leaders and commentators continue to emphasize the need for political tolerance and peaceful engagement, urging citizens to express their electoral choices at polling units rather than resorting to harassment or violence against public figures.
