A dramatic daylight robbery at the busy Aroma Junction in Awka, Anambra State, was caught on camera as a gang of armed men targeted local Point-of-Sale vendors before escaping in a commercial tricycle.
Security footage of the incident shows the suspects arriving at the major transit hub in broad daylight. They pulled up in a tricycle, brandished firearms to threaten the operators, and forced them to hand over their cash and daily earnings. After collecting the money, the robbers quickly boarded the tricycle and sped into afternoon traffic before anyone in the area could react.
The brazen nature of the attack, carried out in an open and heavily frequented commercial area, has raised serious concerns among local business owners and traders. Vendors in the area are calling on the Anambra State Police Command and community security teams to step up patrols and increase security presence around major junctions in the state capital.
