Tragedy struck in Aba, Abia State on Wednesday when unknown gunmen invaded a traffic control post and shot dead a police traffic personnel.
The gunmen who struck after the heavy rainfall that hit the area were said to have trailed the traffic personnel from where he went to take cover from the rain and riddled him with bullets as he resumed duty.
The incident which occurred at the popular at Brass junction on the ever busy Aba –Owerri road was said to have thrown the area into pandemonium as passersby and shop owners fled to safety.

“We just returned after the rain to look for passengers. Within few seconds, we heard a gunshot and everybody ran away because we didn’t know where it came from. When we came back, I saw the police traffic man lying on the ground with blood and people began to gather. I began to wonder, was it not the same man who was with us at the filling station taking cover from the rain?”
