The General Overseer,Believers Evangelical Prayer Ministry,Pastor Goodness Idudu, has been arrested for allegedly obtaining under false pretense, the sum of sixty thousand naira from an unsuspecting victim with the promise of enlisting her into the Nigeria Customs Service.
His arrest was effected on the 28th May through the efforts of eagle-eyed operatives of the Nigeria Police Force,NPF, Ezeagu division, Enugu state.
Pastor Idudu, whose ministry’s headquarters is situated at Amankwor town, in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu state allegedly swindled one Bridget Chiagha Adugo of Neke-Oghe of the same council area, the sum of sixty thousand naira with the promise of giving her a job at the Nigeria Customs Service.
Police source said the suspect gained the confidence of his victim haven issued her a fake Customs recruitment form.
The source revealed further that the applicant became wary of the suspect’s antics when she waited with baited breath for her recruitment but no avail.
This prompted her to report the incident to the Police.
Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, DSP, confirmed the incident noting that the suspect has confessed to the crime while assuring that he(Pastor Idudu) will be prosecuted upon completion of investigation.
