A lion escaped from the Owerri Zoo in unknown destination in the state capital.
In a statement released by the Imo State police command, the animal escaped on Monday night from where it was kept.
The release advised the public to be very careful on how they move, saying the command and the zoo management were doing its best to track the escaped lion.
The zoo is located along Old Nekede Road Owerri.

    Someone close to me dream about dis same lion on Monday night and Wednesday night dat d lion was chasing people try eat dem.we have prayed for God to send bck to zoo.

    huuuh, as if the actual trouble in the whole country is not enough – now the lion is out…
    I remember in the eighties one time all the animals in Nekede-Road-Zoo had no food for some days – the admin. said they had no money, so the strongest made it out of their cages, the others remained squeaking, not for long, imagine all the pigs with their hunger-concert, the lion just finished them, and one baboon came out, into Westend and from an unfinished house in Oparanozie Sreet he threw stones on the people — militaries had to come and save the situation!!!
