A 40 year old gay prophet, Prince Ndubuisi Benjamin has been arraigned before a Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Aba North local government, presided over by Magistrate K.I Udo.
The Police Prosecutor, Corporal Galadima Rubise; in Suit No, MAN/115C/2013 accused Benjamin of having carnal knowledge of one Ndukwe Oko against the order of nature through the anus and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 214(1) of the Criminal Code, cap 80 vol.3 laws of Abia State 2005.
Reacting to the charge against him, Benjamin told the court that he is a businessman and not a pastor as was alleged by the police.
He said that until he (the accused) was brought before the magistrate, the police were yet to tell him his offence(s) that warranted his arrest and therefore, pleaded not guilty of the crime.
He however, demanded for a continuation of his trial by the magistrate.
After listening to the accused plea, the trial Magistrate granted him bail in the sum of N200, 000 only with a surety in a like sum.
Magistrate Udo said that the surety must be a person with a verifiable resident within the jurisdiction of the court and must submit two of his/her recent passport photographs.
The case was adjourned till 9th of September 2013 for hearing and continuation of trial.
It would be recalled that the gay prophet was arrested by the police on the complaints of the victim’s family who accused him of having unlawful carnal knowledge of their son, Ndukwe Oko.
247ureports.com gathered that Ndukwe is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital as a result of the injuries sustained in the illicit love affair.
Abia Police Public Relations Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna said the cleric confessed to the police that he was gay and that the victim is one of his church workers.
Ogbonna said Ndubuisi told the police that he had slept with the victim 17 times.
