Information available to 247ureports.com indicates that the supposed war of corruption – and the hunt for the re-recovery of the Abacha loot may have turned a new page. The effort to re-recover the Abacha has led the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) to send threatening letters of invitation to 241 foreign and local contractors. The letter mandates that each of the contractors visit the ONSA for interview and/or interrogation over payments made to them during the Jonathan administration.
As gathered, the ONSA had previously extended an open blanket invitation to companies and Traditional rulers who had business dealings with the previous administration – to appear before the ONSA to clear themselves regarding payments made to them. According to the ONSA, none of the individuals or companies heeded to the advice.
The ONSA in a renewed attempt to reach the supposed individual is reported to have drafted a 3-page advertorial for publication on Friday. The advertorial will call of the said individuals to willing-fully submit themselves to the ONSA to avoid being arrested. The adverts list the supposed contractors, NGOs, institutions, coalition of traditional rulers and others. They included aerospace/aeronautical companies, traditional rulers, the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Nigerian Union of Journalists, Real Estate companies, and even automobile companies such as The Honda Place and Rolls Royce. Included also are Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Brains and Hammers, Arewa House, General Hyrdocarbon Limited, Max Air, Murtala Mohammed Foundation, Rolls Royce NA, Shehu Musa YarAdua Centre.
A source close to the activities at the ONSA reveal that a significant number of the Traditional rulers being invited by the ONSA comprise of south west monarchs who were recipients of campaign gifts from the Jonathan administration.
