Hon. Okwudili Ezenwankwo, former member of House of Representatives for Orumba North and South Constituency and incumbent candidate of Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC for the Constituency has made a passionate appeal to Nigerians to vote massively for NDC as the only party that can salvage Nigeria from its present economic, political, social and security quagmires.
Ezenwankwo who made the appeal at his Agbiligba village, Nanka in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra state while distributing motorcycles, wheel barrows and cash gifts to farmers who harvested the biggest yams in the area during this year’s Agbiligba village annual new yam festival, said all the party’s candidates for presidential, national and state assembly elections were carefully nominated to replace APC which he described as the old order.
He regretted that for many years now, the old order has turned Nigeria into a poor nation in the midst of abundant natural resources, adding that once NDC takes over the helm of affairs, the country would begin to witness rapid transformation.
He urged the youths in the area to go into massive farming to feed themselves, rather than taking to crime which is a dangerous trend.
Also speaking, the NDC candidate for Orumba North state Constituency in Anambra state House of Assembly, Chiemelie Nwankwo urged Nigerians not to retain the All Progressives Congress, APC within the political circle this time around because APC is the old order as everybody can see.
According to Nwankwo, “Nigerians are tired of the old order which is APC.There is a dire need and an ample opportunity to change that old order this time around. NDC is here to wipe out the tears of the suffering masses. For instance, Anambra state is turning into an erosion site and it is only NDC that can salvage the situation”
Chairman of Agbiligba village, Chief Daniel Ezenwankwo; Secretary of the village, Obi Okafor-Eze Esq. and another stakeholder, Nduka Udoye who expressed confidence that the NDC candidates from Nanka community would do very well if elected because they are tested hands, described the Agbiligba village new yam festival as as sign of encouraging peace, unity and hard work in the area.
Okey Obiagwu whose yam weighed 91.1kg won the first prize while Romanus Okoye came second with his own yam weighing 69.2kg, just as John Nwankwo whose yam weighed 49.2kg, came third and each of them went home with brand new motorcycle to encourage them do more farm work during the next farming season.
