KATSINA, Nigeria — Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, assuring non-indigenous residents that they will continue to benefit equally from state development programs, economic empowerment initiatives, and infrastructure projects.
The Governor gave the assurance on Thursday during a courtesy visit to the Government House in Katsina by leadership representatives of the non-indigenous community, led by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Non-Indigenous Affairs, Hon. Chief Chukwuka Okoye.
Recognition of Economic Contributions and Coexistence
Addressing the delegation, Governor Radda highlighted the historical and socio-economic ties binding non-indigenous residents to Katsina State:
- Socio-Economic Integration: The Governor noted that many non-indigenous residents have lived in Katsina for decades, building businesses, raising families, and contributing directly to employment and wealth creation across the state.
- Constitutional Freedoms: Radda emphasized that his administration upholds the constitutional rights of all citizens to practice their respective faiths freely and live in peace regardless of ethnic or state origin.
- Support for Enterprise: He affirmed that state business interventions are open to all legitimate commercial operators in the state, noting that enterprise development drives shared economic growth.

Directives on Community Requests and Agency Referrals
In response to proposals presented by various group representatives—including the President of the Non-Indigenous Association of Katsina (NIAK), Prince Kunle Awe, as well as interfaith leaders—Governor Radda issued administrative directives to streamline engagement:
- Enterprise & MSME Support: Directed business owners and commercial associations to liaise with the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA) to access available credit facilities and state programs for micro, small, and medium enterprises.
- Traditional & Emirate Engagement: Instructed that matters concerning traditional institutions and community relations be channeled through the Office of the Special Adviser on Emirate Affairs and Traditional Institutions.
- Religious & Inter-Faith Programs: Advised that requests regarding religious conferences and community programs be formally submitted to the Ministry of Religious Affairs for review.
The meeting concluded with community and religious leaders reaffirming their commitment to peaceful coexistence, security cooperation, and continued support for the growth and stability of Katsina State.
