ASABA — A resident of Delta State, identified as Daniel Solomon, has issued a desperate public appeal and a 72-hour ultimatum to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), threatening suicide and murder-suicide unless the party takes immediate custody of his six children.
In an emotional public appeal that has circulated widely on social media, Solomon detailed how he liquidated all his personal assets and property to fund political campaigns for the APC during past election cycles, expecting economic stability and inclusion that never materialized.
Struggling under severe financial distress and an inability to feed his family, Solomon expressed deep anguish over what he described as complete abandonment by party leaders and government authorities.
“I want the APC government to come and take my six children from me within 72 hours,” Solomon lamented. “If they don’t, I will put something in our food, and all of us will die. I have not been myself since I sold all my property to campaign for APC.”
The desperate suicide threat underscores growing public anxiety over severe socio-economic hardship, rising inflation, and the desperate conditions facing grassroots citizens across the country.
Civil society advocates and human rights campaigners in the region have called for emergency intervention by local authorities and state welfare agencies to safeguard the family and provide urgent mental health and humanitarian assistance.
