ENUGU — The Archbishop of the Enugu Ecclesiastical Province and Anglican Bishop of Enugu North, Most Rev. Dr. Sosthenes Eze, has delivered a scathing assessment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, targeting political defectors and presidential aides who prioritize personal gain over public service.
Speaking during a recent church address, the senior cleric criticized former opposition figures—specifically referencing Special Adviser to the President, Daniel Bwala, among others—who crossed political lines to align with President Tinubu’s government.
Archbishop Eze described the culture of political carpet-crossing as self-serving, accusing Tinubu’s appointees and supporters of pursuing “stomach infrastructure” rather than genuine national development or ideological commitment.
The Anglican prelate expressed regret that principles, integrity, and constructive opposition have been replaced by transactional politics across federal and state levels. He warned that governance built on sycophancy and patronage ultimately fails to address the socio-economic challenges facing ordinary Nigerians.
The comments have sparked widespread debate across political circles, re-energizing discussions surrounding political loyalty, governance ethics, and the role of religious institutions in holding the presidency and public officials accountable.
