The lingering leadership crisis in the Anambra state chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC got messier this Sunday following forceful take over of the party headquarters in Awka by the factional executive led by Chief Ifeanyi Osegbo .

But the Sen Emma Anosike executive has warned that such move is not only criminal but against the law and advised party members not to attend any meeting convened by the group.

Recall that the Osegbo faction had gone to obtained a judgement which ruled that Anosike is the Chairman of the party which has been described as kangaroo.

Anosike group had contended that the list of plaintiffs claimed to had gone to Court were not aware of any suit and the  executive members have distanced themselves from the said judgement.

In the said judgement   , both Anosike and the system Secretary were not mentioned as parties or defendants in matter rather the National Working Committee and National Chairman of the party hence vindicating the position of Anosike led executive.

It contended that the factional executive has to serve the NWC and National Chairman of the party who would issue it the authority to gain entrance into the Secretarate.

Already the Inspector General of Police have detailed security operatives to Sen Emma Anosike as Chairman of the party hence affirming that he remains the authentic Chairman.

But the Osegbo faction appears to be going ahead with the taking over of the party Secretarate this Sunday, though the keys to offices are under the custody of Anosike executive.

According to the factional legal Adviser Barr Rich Egenti ,

“In the Interim there is Nothing left to stay and Moreover mere filing a stay of Execution at the Court of Appeal after  full execution of the Judgment is not a Stay”

“Any Attempt by any person or group of persons to Stop the lawfully assembly of the Anambra APC will be deemed Contemptuous and illegal and shall be Vehemently resisted “

Contending Egenti’s submissions, the statement from Anosike led executive said that;

“To keep the records straight devoid of sentiment and prejudice, there was a judgement by the Court of first instance (High Court) in Abuja but we all know that Mr. Ifeanyi Osegbo never contested for any position in the last State Congresses talk more of the position of the State Chairmanship”

“However, it is pertinent to know that our legal team has taken all appropriate steps to challenge the judgment, by filing the necessary applications including stay of execution  and Appeal before the Appellate Court”

“Note that once an Appeal is filed in above circumstance, it halts every impending actions. And the National leadership of the party has also filled their own appeal against the purported judgement and has continued to work with the leadership of Sen. Emma Anosike as the State Chairman of the party till date”

 “We remain confident that the courts will determine the issues in accordance with the law for the Court is not a Father-Christmas to be deceived. It is also on records that the Inspector General of Police and other security agencies are on top of the matter regarding the forgery of documents that deceived the court that led to the said judgement”

“We urge all party members to remain calm, be law-abiding, and patient as the judicial processes run its courses. We must therefore not attend any meeting called by any leadership except Sen.
