Despite the report of Anambra Commission of Enquiry Into the over ten years tussle over the Eze Uzu of Awka Kingdom, the issue has deepened following the announcement by Ozo Austin Ndigwe on the celebration of the Imo Awka festival insisting that he remains the Eze Uzu 3 of Awka.
Ndigwe had announced that the Imo Awka festival would commence in April 22nd as well as April 23rd thanking the Chief Priest of the town for his role in fixing the date for the occasion.
In response to Ndigwe’s insistance, Obi Gibson Nwosu the Eze Uzu 2 of Awka Kingdom dismissed those claims contending that those parading themselves as Imperial Majesty and Eze Uzu 3 are playing God adding that whatever God has not destined cannot come to pass.
Nwosu who would be 90 years this coming Saturday noted at his age he is fulfilled in life noting that whatever that is destined by God no one can throw mud into it .
“Again no matter how the enemy tries to throw mud into what God has destined, they will not succeed and God has destined what would be and it is going to happen the way God wants it to happen and nobody is capable to change it ”
“My advise to my subjects in Awka is that no matter what happens, by people trying to claim what they are not , they must realize that under no circumstances that they change what God has destined to be ”
“They are waisting their time because things would always happen how God wants it to be and whatever they do they cannot be what they want to be ”
“My massage for the younger generation is that they will find out that no matter what they do or what they say , some of them are claiming to be their Imperial Majesty, whatever they are claiming to be it would only happen if God says so and it is not by mere wishes ”
“If God doesn’t destine it to be ; so it will never happen that way ” he concluded.
Recall that before the setting up of the Commission of Enquiry Into Awka Igweship Tussle , Governor Charles Soludo at the home of Ndigwe advised him to stop parading himself as Eze Uzu noting that two monarchs cannot be in one Town adding that as a friend he has to be patient as there is Eze Uzu 2 who is the authentic Traditional Ruler of Awka Kingdom.
Currently anxiety can best describe the mood of Awka Capital City this week as it is being feared that there may be likely show of force among the two factions and government.
However since the announcement by Ndigwe government is yet to take a position on the current issue though it has maintained it’s stand that Ndigwe is not the Monarch of the Town.
