Popular and first-choice Nigerian road transport and logistics company, Chisco Transport Limited, has expanded its operational fleet with the acquisition of 80 brand new Yutong luxury buses and 40 new Sinotruk trucks, for the purpose of expanding capacity, improving service quality, and meeting rising passenger and logistics demands across Nigeria and the West African sub-region.

The newly acquired vehicles, valued in billions of naira, are expected to immediately enhance Chisco’s capacity to deliver safer, more reliable, and premium transportation services, particularly on long-distance intercity routes. The expansion also further heightened the company’s long-standing reputation as one of Nigeria’s most dependable names in road transportation and logistics.

This reporter, Izunna Okafor, further gathered that a total of 80 of the newly procured luxury buses have been scheduled to commence full commercial operations, connecting major destinations in the South-East and the Northern parts of the country, while also servicing the popular Lagos–Accra West Coast route. The deployment, according to the Management, is designed to meet rising passenger demand, improve travel comfort, and reduce turnaround time across Chisco’s busiest routes.

The new 53-seater Yutong luxury buses come fully air-conditioned and fitted with modern onboard amenities that enhance passenger experience and safety. These include soft and ergonomically upholstered seats, phone charging ports, and on-screen entertainment systems, all tailored to provide premium comfort for long-haul journeys.

In addition to the buses, the acquisition of 40 new Sinotruk trucks is expected to further strengthen Chisco’s logistics and cargo operations. The trucks will be deployed for the movement of goods, parcels, and critical consignments across various parts of the country, supporting the company’s expanding role in time-sensitive and essential logistics services.

Speaking during the roll-out ceremony of the new fleet, the Chairman of the Chisco Group, Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to continuous investment in transport infrastructure that directly impacts economic growth, employment generation, and improved quality of life for Nigerians.

Going memory lane, the Amichi Anambra-born transport mogul, Dr. Anyaegbu, who ventured into transportation sector as far back as 1981, said he did so not necessarily because it was the most profitable sector, but because of its capacity to create many employment opportunities for people and also provide essential services to the public.

“In 1981, when I ventured into transportation, I didn’t see it as the most profitable business. But, I saw it as a business that would employ many people,” he stated.

The Chisco Group Boss also explained that this philosophy continues to guide the company’s investments in fleet expansion and service improvement; even as he further revealed other recent expansions and the innovations ongoing in the company, assuring that the best is still ahead.

Also speaking at the event, the Managing Director of Chisco Transport Limited, Mr. Obinna Anyaegbu, said the ongoing expansion reflects the company’s resolve to consistently meet the evolving needs of passengers and logistics customers.

According to him, the acquisition of the new buses and trucks was driven by the company’s resolve to keep pace with modern transportation demands, improve turnaround time, and guarantee customer satisfaction across all operational corridors.

While noting that the company now plays a critical role in national supply chains, he explained that beyond passenger movement, Chisco plays a critical role in transporting essential items such as medicines and other essential commodities. Reliability and customer satisfaction, he emphasized, remain central to the company’s operations and will be further enhanced by the latest acquisitions.

The reliability and confidence in the new buses were further boosted by assurances from Yutong’s technical team, led by Mr. Damian Lee, who were also present at the event and pledged round-the-clock after-sales technical support for the newly deployed luxury buses.

Daniel-Scott Ofoneme, in an interview with this reporter Izunna Okafor, explained that the company regularly renews and upgrades its fleet to ensure that customers enjoy modern, safe, comfortable and dependable travel experiences, while also expanding its logistics footprint and maintaining operational reliability.
