Soludo Retains Okonkwo, Agbata, Onuko as MDs of Key Anambra Agencies

In furtherance to the reconstitution of the State Executive Council for his second term, the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has approved the appointment of Managing Directors for key government agencies, retaining familiar names, as his administration consolidates for a new phase of governance.

The development, which were contained in a press statement issued on Monday, April 4, by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime, saw the reappointment of Mr. Emeka Okonkwo (popularly known as Konti) as Managing Director of the Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency; Mr. Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata as Managing Director of the Anambra State Information and Communication Technology Agency; and Hon. Osita Onuko as Managing Director of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority.

Reports have it that the development signals continuity in the leadership of the said agencies, as the retained appointees are expected to build on their previous mandates while injecting renewed energy into their respective areas of responsibility.

While the Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency plays a central role in traffic control and road safety enforcement across the state, the Information and Communication Technology Agency is pivotal and instrumental to the digital transformation drive ongoing in the state under the Soludo Administration. The Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), on its part, oversees urban planning, environmental management, and infrastructural regulation within the state capital territory, and has recently played significant and visible roles in the transformation of the capital territory, under the Solution Government.

According to the Governor’s Press Secretary, Aburime, in the statement, the newly confirmed Managing Directors are expected to bring renewed vigour, discipline, and commitment to their duties in line with the vision of building a smart, livable, and prosperous Anambra State.
