In his remarks, the party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, who was represented by Mr Oseloka Obaze, said the Labour Party has come to renew, transform and free the country from the current security and social economic challenges.

He appealed to supporters of the party to accept new members in their various areas to ensure victory at the election proper.

“That is why Obi left where he was to join the Labour Party and we are ready to follow him till he enters Aso Rock. The Peter Obi movement has gone beyond our party, anybody that wants this country to remain in existence should key into this movement so as to take our country back from the doldrums”.

The state chairman of the party, Chief Ugochukwu Emeh and the party’s youth leader, Ekene Nnadi maintained that all the LP candidates should collapse all the support groups with a view to work as one.

According to Emeh and Nnadi, ” we need to start on time, so that the people will get aware of where to cast their votes, we are not undermining anybody or government, but we have to be obedient to constituted authorities so that when we are in government, people will obey us too,”.
