NGO distributes start-up packages to 36 adolescents girls, women in Bauchi

A non governmental organization Alwadata Lifeline Initiative (ALLI) has today distributed start up packages to 36 adolescents girls and women on various skills aquasation in Lushi community of Bauchi State.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony, the he Executive Director (ALLI), Mrs Winnfred T. Yusuf said the project was founded by “Brot fur die Welt” through Development Exchange Center DEC as part empowerment programme to girls and women at the grass root level.

She explained that the sub grant projects was also aimed at improving the economic status through entrepreneurship as well as to straighten and building the capacity of (ALLI) staff.

Mrs Yusuf, said that the 36 beneficiaries were those who couldn’t be able to completed training and carefully selected in Lushi households according to the projects contract agreement.

According to her, the participants have undergo 6 months training in the areas of passion design, heanna making and make-up design respectively.

She further said based on the training they have acquired some of them have begun to earn money, while some were now fully participating in family decision making.

The ED, further disclosed that (ALLI) have also introduced village loan and saving scheme as well as cooperative society with a view to uplift and upgrade the Lifeline of the women’s.

In his remarks, the village head of Lushi community, Danjuma Mohammed Wakili, who was representative by Chindo Ali, thanked the NGO for selecting his community and ensure monitoring of the beneficiaries for effective results.

Interview with some of the beneficiaries Naomi Daniel, aged 25, passion designer and Habiba Hussaini, aged 22, heanna making thanked, Alwadata and DEC for gesture and promised to utilized the equipment’s for the popurse it was meant for.

Other activities during the event was a distribution of start up package items to the beneficiaries.
