BASG, OCP Africa trains Bauchi farmers on modern farming techniques under Covid 19 project

An Africa best Fertilizer Company OPC Africa in collaboration with Bauchi State Government has commenced training targetting over 5000 farmers on new farming techniques under its famous project Covid 19 to assist farmers to get farming inputs at a subsidized rates in their farms as a result of cotonz virus pandemic.

The aim of the projects is to help farmers to get genuine fertiliser and other agricultural inputs to get bumper harvest for their products.

Declaring the training open the state commissioner of  Agriculture Pharmacy  Sama’ila Adamu Burga said expressed gratitude to the fertilizer company for the numerous assistance they have been  rendering to farmers.

Burga said under the covid 19 project 5000 farmers will benefit from the project  and they were selected from three senatorial  district, there are 10,000 sacks of fertilizer each farmer will get two sacks .by the time they learn the techniques of they use the two sacks in half hecter ,they will get what they use to get in three hecters.

He said the project will help to educate farmers on mordern farming techniques, to ensure bumper harvest ‘through the provision of fertilizer and other farming inputs and the project will  help to produce up takers that will buy the commodity from the farmers  after harvest.

Commissioner commended the OPC for opening a stock shop in all locations where a farmer will find all that is needed  to boost their farming activities.

Representative of OPC Africa Alhaji Idris Adamu Azare said  the programme is going on in 10 states and  in Bauchi State three local government  were selected to benefit from the programmes.

Adamu said the local governments are Alkaleri in Bauchi South ,Ningi in Bauchi  Central and Shira Yana in Bauchi South.

He said the fertilizer and farming inputs will be sold to farmers below the market price and pledge to take it to farmers farms after purchase.

Adamu said Agricultural experts were trained to follow farmers to their farms and train farmers on how to use the fertilizer and other farming inputs and each agricultural experts given a tablet for data capture of farmers and motorcycles that will assist them to follow farmers to their farms.
