Gemade, Akaagerger Trade Blames Over SDP Primaries

Two Senatorial aspirants of the Benue North East Senatorial District, Sen. Barnabas Gemade and Sen. Joseph Akaagerger are currently trading blames over the yet to the announced result of the party’s primary election which held last Saturday.
Akaagerger in company of some aggrieved aspirants of the Party had address newsmen on Monday alleging irregularities perpetrated by thugs sponsored by Senator Banabas Gemade.
They had also called national secretariat of the party to cancel the national and state assembly primary election of the party in the state.
Reacting to the allegations, Senator Gemade said Akaagerger is just a liar and a loud trouble maker who was hired by his political opponents to denigrate his personality.
Gemade explained that the primaries were conducted freely and fairly in five out of the seven local government areas that make up the senatorial district.
“Akaagerger is only ranting. He is so desperate and does not want to accept defeat. I have defeated him severally in the past. So, why must he say I must behave crookedly before I can win election?
“The elections are not yet announced but I know they are conclusive already. We are only waiting for the electoral panel to announce the result and I know I will win. He knows he is a loser in the elections that is why he has ran to the press.
He insiated that Akaagerger has been hired by his political opponents against hom and warned sternly that he will not hesitate to sue anyone who denigrates his personality.
