Enerhen Community in Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State has petitioned the Delta State Government under the leadership of Dr .Ifeanyi Okowa over an alleged assassination plot on the Chairman of the community, Comrade Lucky Emuakpor Izeku by the navy and army officers attached to Arco Marine Oil Services Limited and Python Engineering Company respectively.

In a petition through the Community’s solicitors, J. L Oghenevwearhe Ojukoko and Associates dated Friday 1st April 2016, signed by John Larry Ojukoko Esq and made available to newsmen, the community appealed to the state government to intervene by calling on the military to order, demanding for a detail investigation on the assassination plot on the Chairman of the community by the naval officer and military officers attached to the two companies.

According to the petition, the Chairman of the community, Comrade Izeku was attacked by naval and military officers attached to the aforementioned companies recently by shooting sporadically at him and when they could not get at him, damaged his car windscreen, vandalized the car and carted away with his valuables including two hundred and fifty thousand cash (the community’s money in custody of the Chairman), a cheque book and other valuables.

It was learnt that the offense of the Enerhen Community Chairman according to the petition was his courage to dare ask the company to settle the staff who are from the company before the company’s final relocation to Port.

It was gathered that the soldiers have earlier chased community executives on same purpose.

It added that, this action warranted one Major Anzaku who identified himself as a Commanding Officer of the Nigerian Army in charge of the army officers attached to Python Engineering to visit the scene where he discovered three bullet shells and promised to investigate the matter but disappointedly defended his men stylishly that the barrels of their guns were not hot, an indication that none of his men fired any shot.

The statement of the Commanding Officer has rather thrown fears in the hearts of the people wondering the kind of investigation he would embark on when he has aired his verdict.

The petition further stated that Enerhen Community is law abiding and would not take laws into its hands but would not watch the nefarious act done to them by the military officers go unpunished, just as it said, it wou;d resist with all means available, the final movement of Arco Marine equipment from their company in the community without first settling all pending issues.

The petition reads in parts: “it has come to our clients notice that the management of Arco Marine vowed to move all their equipment and relocate finally before the 4/4/2016 without making the severance payment to the affected disengaged community employees, our client have vowed to resist with all means available the final movement   of Arco Marine equipment from our client’s community without first settling all pending issues.”

It would be recalled that the Commander NNS Delta, Commodore Raimi Mohammed had earlier promised to investigate the matter.

At the time of filling this report, nothing has been heard about the investigation by the military.
