The Nigerian Prison Service (NPS) has declared that the social media reports making round about the death of Mr. Charlse Okah, is false, adding that the Inmate is hail and healthy.
A statement issued by the Service spokesman, DCP Enobore Francis, on Wednesday in Abuja, said Okay was presently alive in the prison.
The inmate was said to have attempted committing suicide on Tuesday.
The short statement reads: “I wish to react to the numerous calls from media correspondents seeking clarifications into the rumoured death of Mr. Charles Okah in prison custody and state that the information is not true.
“Okah is hail and healthy and going about his normal daily routine in safe custody. The rumour has no iota of truth and therefore should be disregarded.”
