Army imposes 24-hour curfew on Maiduguri After Boko Haram Fresh Attack


The Military have on Thursday morning Impose a 24 -hour Curfew on Maiduguri the Borno state capital hours after Boko haram Islamic rebels lunched a fresh attack on the capital city

Over 30 Boko haram members attacked Maiduguri – a city that is just recovering from insurgency,   on Wednesday night ‎leaving some residents killed while others scampered to safety.

” The Boko haram members invaded Maiduguri through the water side  village of Kayamla, but they were eventually repelled but some our members were killed by a female suicide bomber in the nearby Kayala village ” Abdullahi Sani, a local vigilante member said.

“Many people could not sleep in their houses as the they fear the insurgents may attack them at midnight ” Sani added.

‎This urgly development has however forced the military to short down the ancient city

” In view of the recent development within Maiduguri metropolis a 24hr curfew is hearby imposed in the city.

“This is done to protect lives and property of innocent and law abiding people of maiduguri.
The Nigerian Army wish to once again thank you for your continuous support and cooperation. The situation is firmly under control. ” ‎ Colonel Tukur Gusau ‎Said in a statement released today.
