Ex-commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development in Anambra State, Chief Godson Ezenagu has publicly declared that Awka-north and South federal constituency is poorly represented at the federal House of Representatives Abuja.
Chief Ezenagu made this public declaration shortly after the conferment of a chieftaincy title on him by the traditional ruler of Okpuno Awka HRH Igwe S.I.Okafor on the occasion of 2014 new yam festival in his palace Okpuno Awka Anambra state .
The ex-commissioner who spoke to journalists shortly after the title of ” Akpokuedike Okpuno ” was bestowed on him said Awka-north and South federal constituency was in a state of melancholy as he clearly observed that the constituency does not reflect any federal presence and that he was on a mission to rescue the people from the grip of poor quality representation at the national assembly.
Chief Ezenagu who hails from Mgbakwu in Awka-north local government area maintained that he has traversed the nooks and crannies of the constituency but to his dismay constituency projects were a mirage in the area .According to him Oba-Ofemili, Amanuke and some other communities in Awka-north and South federal constituency lacked motorable roads as well as some other social amenities that should have been attracted to the constituency.
He stated also that his people in the aforesaid constituency have beckoned on him to represent them at the national assembly in order to rescue the area from the poverty of infrastructure observing that the constituency has suffered a great deal from poor quality representation and that the time has come for the emancipation of his people from what he described as arbitrary representation .He equally expressed optimism that he would make a unique difference in the federal house of representatives if elected as the lawmaker representing Awka-north and South federal constituency at the national assembly in 2015 .
On the conferment of the chieftaincy title on him, he explained that it was a call for more work and philanthropy for his people while acknowledging the efforts of Governor Willie Obiano in the promotion and preservation of the culture and traditions of Anambra people .
