Information reaching 247ureports.com from competent sources near the presidency in Abuja revealed that all might have not gone as well it seemed to the public eyes concerning the unfolding impeachment saga in the north eastern state of Adamawa – where the lawmakers of the Adamawa State house of assembly had served impeachment notice to the fleeing embattled governor under a process considered foggy by some within the partisan political theater. Â The process which was followed by instruction to the acting chief Judge of the state to set up a panel to examine the impeachment grounds, according to the source, did not go smoothly. It required action from the presidency.
According to information received, the Brigade of Guards was used to intimidate and/or force the acting chief Judge into setting up the panel. A source who spoke from Yola indicated that the Chief Judge appeared initially hesitant to set the committee – citing a court injunction earlier obtained by the embattled governor. Orders from Abuja superseded. Â The “intimidation was too over powering” stated the source who went on to state that the embattled governor “is a goner“. He went on to add that “Nyako is the worse governor that I know on earth, but I don’t subscribe to the way he is being sacked. The man is simply simply a daft and a dullard. Someone whom you can never trust. However, it’s sad that APC, will loose yet another governor“.
The acting Chief Judge’s term in office is said to expire on the night of July 6, 2014 – implying that the 7 member panel set up to examine the impeachment grounds may not be able to be sworn-in by the acting Judge whose tenure would have expired before Monday July 7, 2014. Sources within Yola point to a possible declaration by Nyako tomorrow – stating that Tuesday and Wednesday would be public holidays. The declaration is expected to buy him time to appoint a more friendly chief Judge.
