Information available to 247ureports.com indicate that there appear a raising tension at Governor’s lounge in Jigawa over the sudden return of former governor Ibrahim Saminu
Turaki to Nigeria. Saminu who arrived Abuja yesterday was seen on Television at a national
program where he was said to be representing the Senate President, David Mark. This led to jubilation among the supporters Saminu – “that Saminu has returned”.

Sources told our reporter that series of meetings were held at the government house in Dutse between governor Lamido and select government functionaries as well as 27 local government chairmen – on the way forward in People Democratic Party [PDP]. The Lamido team are said to be concerned over the attempt by Abuja PDP to eclipse Lamido’s relevancy within the PDP – with the return of the ex-governor, Saminu. A source from the meeting stated that the option of defecting to the All Progressive Party [APC] was discussed dispassionately.

It was reliably gathered that all member of the national assembly and all the senators representing Jigawa state from the three senatorial districts visited Governor Lamido seeking for their fate – questioning Lamido to tell them their fate either if they will continue surviving
in the PDP or they will defect from the party as other members did in the national house of assembly.

Already, many of the supporters of the APC have started jubilating that Lamido will lose power in the state because, according to them, the Abuja PDP will send delegates to supervise the political activities in the state.

When 247ureports.com called the press secretary to the governor, he did not answer the call but the state party chairman, when contacted, said it was all a rumor. “The rumor that Lamido
will defect from PDP to DPM is not true because there was nothing like
that
”. Salisu Mamuda [State Chairman] added, “we will remain in the PDP we have no plans to defect from the party”.
