Below are photographs of select sectors in the Anambra developmental projects. They show the following –
the road area leading to the home of the late leader of the All Progressive Grand Alliance [APGA], Chukwukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu – it shows the dilapidated nature of the area – not minding that he is the leader of the ruling party in the state – and that he played the vital role towards the re-election effort of Governor Peter Obi to his second term in office.
Unizik Junction – the sets of photographs show the dilapidated nature of the area – the area marks one of the busiest area in the state capital. It is situated less than 5km from the governor’s office. Recently, the Governor of Anambra State pleaded with the Jonathan led administration to allow the Anambra government to take over the refurbishing of the area – of which – the federal government would then pay the state government for the reconstruction costs. The Jonathan led administration agreed. But the area appears to remain undone – after several months of getting the go-ahead from the federal government. Presently, the area serves as a death trap for motorists and students of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
Umuchiani Gully Erosion, Ekwulobia – the sets of photographs show the state of the gully erosion work – after the Peter Obi had been given over N1billion by the Obasanjo administration out of the ecological fund for the work to be carried out at the site.
Our Lady of Lordes Hospital, Uli – the photographs show the near abandoned projects that had been flagged off by the Anambra State government over one year ago – it remains uncompleted – as more hurried flag-offs by the Obi administration are undertaken. The Obi administration in its present spat of flags offs of projects – appears to have not completed old projects which it had started amidst applause – but not completed. The pictures speak for themselves.
