A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State, Alhaji Umar Tanko Dajin, has said the party has not decided on whether to accept the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Muhammed into its fold or not for having fought against its gubernatorial candidate, Isa Yuguda in the 2011 elections.
Speaking to journalists at Protea Hotel Asokoro, Abuja, the Bauchi based politician revealed that in the 2011 general elections, instead of the FCT Minister who claimed to have dumped his former party, ANPP to the PDP to support the efforts of the party in the state, he chose to oppose its gubernatorial candidate for the ACN that is yet to be forgotten or forgiven by the party.
According to him, the FCT Minister is alleged to have donated N50million to the ACN gubernatorial candidate and paid several nocturnal visits to the state at the peak of the campaigns to fly the flag of ACN in the nights and in the day time pretended to be a disciple of Jonathan Goodluck of the PDP.
“We are all living witnesses to what transpired during the 2011 campaigns. It was because of our determination, political prowess and fervent prayers that Yuguda emerged victorious at that election. Senator Bala and his co-travelers were in support of opposition and fought the PDP in the open for the hatred they had against the person of governor Yuguda”, he said
Tanko further revealed that up to this moment, the FCT Minister has not shown any concern to the smooth running of the party in the state but is alleged to be recruiting miscreants and trouble shooters perhaps for the realization of his political ambition in 2015 that is yet to be made public.
“As a PDP founding member, I honestly support the call for the sack of the FCT Minister from the Federal Executive Council for his failure to support the ruling party in Bauchi state and his disloyalty to the party leadership at the state level. He is PDP in Abuja and ACN in Bauchi state. We have cried out for the national leaders of the party to act decisively and save the party. Senator Bala has no political base in Bauchi state and PDP is not keen to have him as its floor member”, he opined
In a related development, an Abuja based youth group under the aegis of YOUTH FOR CHANGE, has supported the call for the sack of the FCT Minister from the Federal Executive Council for his failure to carry the youth along in the FCT.
Making their position known, leader of the group, Caleb Terwuse, said, “Senator Bala is the worst FCT Minister ever. He has frustrated the youth and every other person residing in the FCT unless if you are either a land speculator or praise singer. We support the call for his sack and we shall actively participate in the planned one million-man march against him any time we are called upon to participate”.
