PG Nnewichi Presents One-Year Scorecard, Highlights Major Developmental Milestones

The President General of Nnewichi Community, Hon. Engr. Sir Emmanuel Udoka Chukwueloka, CKSMA, has presented his one-year scorecard, highlighting significant achievements recorded since assuming office on June 14, 2025.

Speaking during the anniversary celebration, the President General disclosed that his administration conducted a comprehensive needs assessment immediately after assuming office and identified the completion of the Nnewichi Community Ultra-Modern Multi-Purpose Hall as its highest priority.

According to him, the abandoned project has since witnessed remarkable progress, including completion of roofing works, installation of windows, security enhancements, and ongoing plastering works. The upgraded design now includes a Digital Library and ICT Centre, Archives Centre, security office, modern conveniences, and additional event facilities.

The administration also facilitated a six-year scholarship programme for six indigent children drawn from various quarters of Nnewichi through the support of Chief Dr. Emeka Alutu.

In promoting unity and social cohesion, the administration successfully organized the Nnewichi/Friends of Nnewichi Community Day Celebration, featuring sporting activities, talent competitions, cultural displays, and recognition awards for notable contributors to community development.

The President General further highlighted achievements in peacebuilding, security enhancement, committee restructuring, and the successful registration of Nnewichi Community Association with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

Financially, the administration inherited approximately ₦400,000 but has successfully mobilized over ₦54 million through donations and stakeholder support within one year.

As part of its commitment to healthcare and education, the administration announced a Free Medical Outreach scheduled for June 18, 20 and 21, 2026 at Obi Nnewichi.

Additionally, a Free School Outreach Programme will be launched on June 16, 2026 to provide mentorship, educational materials, sanitary supplies and leadership development opportunities for students across selected schools within Nnewichi.

Following inspections conducted at Nnewichi Community Secondary School, the administration identified several infrastructure deficiencies requiring urgent intervention, including damaged ceilings, inadequate power supply, poor sanitation facilities, broken windows and doors, and deteriorating classroom conditions. Stakeholders were invited to partner in improving the learning environment.

The President General also acknowledged the outstanding academic performance of schools within Nnewichi, which recently secured first, second and third positions in quiz and debate competitions organized by Nnewi North Local Government Area.

He concluded by appealing for unity among all segments of the community and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, development, education, peace and inclusive growth.
