Gov Emmanuel Explains Recruitment Of 1,569 Science Teachers

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has said that his administration is working towards full commencement of Engineering courses at the state owned tertiary institutions, especially the State Polytechnic and University.

He said with this in view, he will leave no stone unturned in training and equipping the young people in in science oriented courses in secondary schools in the state.

 

The Governor who spoke with Government House correspondents at the airport, shortly on arrival from an official trip to Abuja said his administration decided to commence with the recruitment of 1,569 teachers to teach all science subjects and English language in secondary schools in the state.

 

He reiterated his belief in building capacity and strengthening manpower ahead of the impending economic recovery in the country.

 

“…certainly as we prepare towards economic recovery, we need to also build capacity in other to move on, if I don’t do that, it means that I don’t have faith in the economy.”

 

He further assured Akwa Ibom people that those sponsored to distract him are wasting their time as he was highly focused.

 

“I am one of those that have full confidence in the economy, that as we move towards the last quarter of the year, the economy should be back on the part of recovery,” the governor added.
