The Abuja Writers Forum (AWF) hosts Lois Otse Adams-Osigbemhe, Victor Oluwasegun and Judah Wilson for the May 28thedition of the Guest Writer Session which holds at Nanet Suites, Cental Business District , Abuja by 4pm.
Ms Adams-Osigbemhe has a number of qualifications in Mass Communication and Journalism, and most recently got a Master of Arts in Media Arts.
An author and publisher, her new work is a biography, Olaitan Oyerinde: His Struggles For A Better Nigeria. It chronicles the life and times of the erstwhile adviser to the current Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomole, who was cut-down in his prime four years ago by assassins.
In a review of the book by Issa Aremu, he emphatically notes the author’s “ability to weave together the varying positive attributes of Comrade Olaitan to give us a complete picture of a patriot, a revolutionary, a tested unionist, an organizer, a loyal worker, a mentor and a proud father of three and husband.”
Ms Adams-Osigbemhe has been alternatively an Editor, Zonal Head, Project Manager, Editorial Board Member, Public Relations Manager, Researcher/ Programme Officer, Script Writer, Sectetary etc in some A-list organisations engaged in the media/ public sector, doplomatic service and state -controlled Commissions.
She also engages in Community Development Projects and is the Founder of Udukhotse Foundation where physically challenged people and the old are given both financial, material, psychological and physical assistance.
She is a member of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) and was recently elected Publicity Secretary of the Abuja Chapter. She also belongs to the Abuja Writers Forum (AWF) and is a product of the AWF Creative Writing School.
Victor Oluwasegun will be reading from his latest book, a collection of short stories titled Beyond Measure. His previous works include In The Shadow, Messie’s Kingdom, Nightfall, Aminat & Mahmoud and A Big Surprise.
He also has to his credit a music album, “Uroyin Ayo” (Good News), which he produced in collaboration with his wife.
His current writing project is a science-fiction novel tentatively titled “The Sagamu Takeover”. He is married to Felicia and they have three children.
Mr Oluwasegun began his journalist career with Encomium Magazines in Lagos and moved to Abuja where he c works with The Nation Newspapers as a political correspondent.
Judah Wilson ( whose real name is Wilson Emmanuel Haruna) is a singer, songwriter, choreographer and producer based in Abuja Nigeria . He began playing the guitar in 2009 and has been involved at the regional stage of the Malta Guinness Street Dance Africa with his former crew (GTP Strangers). He is also a praise and worship leader in Family Worship Center trailblazer youth church Abuja.
Wilson is working on releasing some singles before the end of the year, and has been a support act for a number of foreign and home-based artises like Sho Baraka, S.O., Da Truth Wande Coal and Korede Bello.
His major influence is the gospel award -winning artist Kortney Jamaal Pollard, who performs under the stage name Mali Music.
