Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship aspirant, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, has admitted that it will be very difficult for any of the governorship aspirants to defeat the incumbent governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha in 2015.
Speaking during his consultation visit at the residence of PDP chieftain, Chief Tony Chukwu in Umueze 1 community in Ehime Mbano Local Gvernment Area of the state, Ihedioha said there was nowhere in the world where it was easy to defeat an incumbent chief executive.
According to him, it would require someone with equal strength in every ramification that would have the capacity to defeat an incumbent like Okorocha in 2015 governorship election in the state.
He told the party members in the area that among all the aspirants angling to be governor in 2015, he had all it takes to wrestle power from Okorocha, because according to him, his performance in the House of Representatives would speak for him.
Ihedioha told them that he came to seek their support to run for the 2015 governorship position of the state on the party’s platform, saying the PDP needed somebody like him with more connection, exposure, experience and wherewithal to win the seat back for the party.
The lawmaker said it was as a result of his sterling performance in the House of Representatives that his constituency sent him back for the third time, adding that he had been instrumental to the stability of democracy in Nigeria.
He appealed to them to support him get the party’s ticket to enable him work for the people of the state.
The consultation visit featured political heavyweights from within and outside Imo State such as Chief Tony Chukwu, Sir Emeka Offor, members of the National and state Assemblies and the PDP ward and local government executives.
