A bus branded with the City Boy Movement logo — a support group associated with President Bola Tinubu — was involved in a serious crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near Ibadan on Tuesday morning, and the condition of those on board remains unconfirmed.

What Happened

According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the bus was travelling along the expressway when the crash occurred, triggering panic among motorists and passersby. Passersby and other motorists were seen making efforts to rescue occupants of the bus and clear the wreckage, which caused traffic to build up along the affected stretch of road.

Accounts of the emergency response to the crash vary. One report states that Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) personnel and other emergency responders were contacted and expected to arrive at the scene to assist with rescue operations and traffic management. A separate report claims no emergency ambulance was available at the scene to transport victims for treatment, and frames this against the broader presence of Tinubu campaign-branded buses nationwide. 247ureports.com could not independently verify either account, and as of this report, there is no official confirmation from the FRSC, Oyo State emergency services, or the City Boy Movement regarding the number of people injured, their medical condition, or whether anyone died in the crash.

The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has recorded a string of serious, often fatal crashes in recent months, frequently attributed to speeding, brake failure and driver error on one of Nigeria’s busiest and most accident-prone federal highways.
