KATSINA — In a key political realignment in Katsina State, members of the political group Katsina Youth in Politics (KASYPO) have officially abandoned the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and declared their return to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The group formally announced its decision during an audience with Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda at the Government House in Katsina.

Led by Comrade Hassan Bindawa and accompanied by the group’s patron, Dr. Biliyaminu Ingawa, the delegation stated that the move was motivated by the administration’s focus on youth inclusion and ongoing developmental projects across the state.

Key Statements from the Meeting

  • Governor Dikko Umaru Radda: Welcoming the delegation, Governor Radda remarked that the move demonstrates the political maturity of the youth to distinguish between leaders genuine about public service and those who engage in deception. He cautioned young politicians against unchecked personal ambition, noting that excessive demands can stifle political growth and long-term potential.
  • Comrade Hassan Bindawa (KASYPO Leader): Bindawa explained that members initially joined the ADC in search of structured political participation for women and youths. However, upon realizing the opposition platform lacked a viable blueprint, the group reassessed Governor Radda’s performance and resolved to support his developmental agenda.
  • Dr. Biliyaminu Ingawa (Group Patron): Ingawa noted that the decision originated directly from the youth members, who requested the meeting to formally declare their loyalty and confidence in the administration.
