OGBOMOSO, OYO STATE — Heavily armed gunmen launched a daring, nighttime raid on the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) command office in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, overpowering officers on duty and carting away an unconfirmed number of service rifles. This incident occurs amid rising insecurity in the state.
The Night Ambush along the Ilorin Expressway
The attack took place around 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday along the Ogbomoso–Ilorin Motorway. The assailants surprised guards, disarming personnel and stealing weapons before fleeing the scene.

The Oyo State Police Command has stated that a briefing on the incident is still pending. However, a joint investigation involving police and immigration intelligence is underway to evaluate the security breach.
