LAGOS — Arise TV anchor Rufai Oseni on Friday morning created a tense moment on live television during a heated interview with a National Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial aspirant, Mr. Nwanbueze Oli, demanding absolute transparency over the finances driving his political ambition.
The confrontation occurred during a breakfast broadcast where Oli was detailing his legislative agenda and reasons for contesting under the newly formed political platform.

Interrupting the aspirant’s flow, Oseni shifted the focus directly to political corruption and the high cost of expression of interest and nomination forms in Nigerian politics, demanding that the politician declare his exact spending.
“How much did you pay for the form and how much also exchanged hands?” Oseni asked pointedly.
The direct questioning visibly caught the senatorial aspirant off guard, forcing him to defend his integrity and the internal financial processes of the NDC on live television.
The exchange has since triggered intense debate among viewers and political commentators regarding the monetization of party primaries and whether new political alternatives like the NDC are successfully departing from the expensive transactional politics associated with older dominant parties.
