Starting from October 14, 2025, the maximum fine payable for any traffic offense in the state will be capped at ₦10,000, regardless of the nature of the offence.
Governor Soludo stated this during a mega rally turned “town hall meeting” at the Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium Onitsha, by transport stakeholders to endorse his second term re-election bid.
“The policy is designed to alleviate the economic strain on our people, particularly in a time when many are grappling with rising costs,” Soludo stated during the rally, addressing an enthusiastic crowd of transport operators, union members, and community leaders.
“We are partners in progress. We will set a special task force and enforcement against illegal tax collectors. Anybody that collects cash should remit it to government coffers”, he stated, promising that the Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency, ARTMA, will work to designate proper bus stops with proper markings.
“From the available records, the kilometer of roads we have done and repaired, no government comes close in less than four years. It is for you”, assuring that development of Anambra under his administration is just the beginning.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Barr. Patricia Igwebuike stated that they have the numbers in the sector because they are in every home, and praised the Governor for being in alignment with maritime, aviation, road transportation and blue economy.
