A tragic incident has occurred in Umuaka as a man, identified as Uche from Ndeziama Amakor, was fatally shot by Joint Task Force (JTF) operatives on Sunday, June 29. Uche was seated in front of his house, near a building construction site where a worker from Amurie was putting up POP.
According to the family’s spokesperson who narrated the story to Umuaka news24 correspondence, the incident unfolded when JTF operatives allegedly drove by, firing bullets at the building’s roof, before taking Uche and the POP worker to a location near St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Ugbele, where they were shot dead without any apparent reason. Uche was shot through the mouth, with the bullet exiting through his brain, according to reports from the family.
The family is demanding justice for Uche’s unexplainable death, questioning the motive behind the attack. The incident has left the community in shock, with many calling for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
